Why must my cat insist on chewing on my crocs? Im so sick of the little teeth marks. He finds them anywere I put them (closets are all open in my house). Anyone else have this problem? How do I make them less attractive?
Hahah, don't have this problem. Got a cat and two dogs. Maybe spray something on them that'd make them taste bitter, just the first couple of times.. then wash them before you wear them. Eventually may learn?
Maybe get your cat some crocs of his/her own...????
In all seriousness.... yes, one of my 3 cats (this pleasantly plump one) LOVES anything made out of that type of foam"ish" material... flip flops, crocs, etc... we have to hide them away..... don't even get me started on plastic bags! Ugh! Hate it when they find one in the middle of the night somewhere....
Your cat is GORGEOUS!! I had one that looked JUST like that, including the different colored eyes. I loved her so much, her name was Bella. She was such a sweet, sweet kitty. But I was allergic to her, my kids were allergic to her AND she was doing this thing where she would stuff herself silly and then go puke, like kitty bulimia. Soooo, I had to give her away. Oh how I cried when I handed her to the girl who took her.
I have one cat that didn't bother with anything in my house - she was perfectly behaved - until I had a little girl. Now, she will not leave the My Little Ponies alone. She chews the ears off all of them...will even dig to the bottom of a toybox to find them and chew on them. I've had to keep them in their own little rubbermaid tote, otherwise we have earless ponies.
It could be that he likes the taste of the plastic material they are made out of. My kitties don't mess with our crocs, but if you bring a plastic bag into the house they are all over it. It's annoying and I don't understand why they like the taste. I have to immediately dispose of any plastic bags that come into our house. If I try to "hide" one in a closet they try to get to it as soon as the closet door is opened. Guess it should be a good push for me to start using fabric bags at the store!
Since your closet doesn't have doors, I'd suggest the plastic bins too. I use these for my DD's flip flops simply because it keeps them neater in the closet.
As another alternative, think "outside the closet" as a place to store the shoes. Do you have a cabinet in your bathroom under the sink? Put them in there, or how about under your bed in a box/bin?
