Cats and candles

I just discovered that my kitten is obsessed with candles. I have one lit on the desk here, and she will NOT stop trying to grab the flame. It doesn't matter how many times she burns her paw, she keeps doing it! I'm going to have to blow it out.

Anyone else have a cat that LIKES fire?

My other cat never did this.

Kitties and candles....watch out

We had a fire in our town about a month ago that was started by a poor little kitty that knocked over a candle. The entire house was lost Very sad, but the saddest part to me was that there were 4 cats in the house and only 3 lived

I have a very playful kitty named Sampie. He doesn't like fire, but LOVES to play hide and seek with his play mice. Ok, actually he's obsessed with his mice!

My sister's cat is a pyro. She won't touch candles, but she will stare at them, mesmerized, for hours. All the other cats are respectful of fire - though Oscar, my parents' cat, lost half his whiskers before he learned his lesson.

My Cheeky also has a slightly shorter few wiskers on one side of his face due to a candle. I won't light candles when my cats are around now just in case. The silly think when he set his wiskers alight was that he didn't realise and I had to blow them out for him. Fortunatley he was really close to where I was sitting at the time.

My friends cat is fascinated by candles and pushed her candle over and started the sofa on fire!!! She wasn't in the room at the time and boy did she get a surprise when she came back in the room!
Sofa has a huge burn mark on it, but everyone is ok!

Be careful! Cats and candles do not mix!

lol. mine learned the hard way to stay away from candles. She burned off her whiskers.
