We decided the night before, that we would stick to our original plan of having breakie at 1900 Park Fare this morning, despite 5 members of our party still being in Scotland!! Everyone was up early, and we had light breakfast of cereal and fruit. Nice and relaxed it was today. Also on the agenda was Magic Kingdom after the breakie. So we left at 10 and headed for the MK Lot. Caught the monorail to Grand Floridian. We arrived just before 11 and checked in. This was my first ever visit to Grand Floridian, and while it really was stunning, it didn’t have the same wow factor that AKL had. Mary Poppins was at the entrance of 1900 Park Fare, so this was the first autograph of the holiday! The kids were so excited, even Anthony who is a bit of a ‘man’s man’…! LOL!! ;)

We were shown our table, and told to help ourselves. With a constant flow of orange juice to the table, the service was excellent. The characters today were Pooh. Tigger and Mad Hatter. The food was excellent. I loved the Southwestern Scrambled Eggs. We all really stuffed ourselves silly. The pastries were fab too. Strawberry turnovers and Cheese Danish…..yumtastic as Miffy would say!!!! Anthony ate 5 pancakes. That was it. Expensive pancakes!! Cost of the breakfast, around $150 for the nine of us, tip included.
The characters were great – especially the Mad hatter. He had lots to say!!!

Ok, now onto MK. There seemed to be characters everywhere as we entered the park - and they all had long lines except Goofy!!!

The castle looked really nice - and I quite liked the mirror idea. It did change, but I never did see it changing!!!

It was busy. We headed into Tomorroland, as the kids were desperate to get onto Buzz. Line was 90 minutes! We got FPs instead. We headed onto TTA. One of my very favourites. Stitch’s great Escape was showing wait time of 100 minutes!! We headed round to the TeaCups – another kids favourite. Not sure about it after the ‘all you can eat buffet’ though….LOL. 20 minutes wait, so we waited. After this it was time for the FP’s for Buzz. So we headed back. It was just after 2 – once we had done Buzz it would be nice time for the parade. Unfortunately Buzz had broken down, so that was a no-go. Before heading to watch the parade we got FP’s for Stitch later that evening – 6pm. We headed back to the Hub and got a spot for the parade. We sat down and got some drinks. Another cracking day weather wise – not a cloud in the sky, and temps of 79 today. The parade was fantastic as always. Noticed a slight change in the parade from 2003 – change in floats at the end of the parade.

Once the parade was over we headed to Pirates of the Caribbean. Even Pirates was showing a wait of 40 minutes!!! We waited nevertheless! Kids sang Yo Ho all the way round, no sign of Orlando Bloom though……. :sad2:

We still had loads of time before our FP’s were due for Stitch, so we wandered through Frontierland, stopping for Jelly Belly Beans at the Trading Post. A huge bag of Strawberry Daiquiri ones for me!!! Then into Liberty Square. Hardly any line for Haunted Mansion, so we hopped in there. Anthony was a bit unsure of the stretching room, even though he’s been on Haunted Mansion at least twice!!! How different my two DS’s are really came out in this trip. Anthony turned into a real coaster-freak, but disliked anything that was a bit scary, while Christopher loved all the scary stuff, but wasn’t up for roller coasters. Into Fantasyland next, we were now allowed another FP as it was time for Stitch so we got some FP’s for Mickey’s Philharmagic before heading off to Stitch. Not sure what to expect, because I absolutely hated Alien Encounter, and from what I had read, it was still the same kind of format. Not wanting to spoil it for those still to see it, but it was quite good fun. Christopher just loved it – he was telling everyone that Stitch was jumping on his shoulders!!!!!! The chili-dog bit was just gross though!!!!
It was now after 7. We hadn’t eaten since breakfast at 11. But nobody was hungry yet!!!! Just shows how much we had to eat!!! It was time for Mickey’s Philharmagic. This has to be one of THE best things at WDW. Nothing matches it – not even Shrek. It is superb. It gives you a nice warm feeling inside, and to me that’s what going to WDW is all about. We were exhausted. Kids had gone all day without a stroller for first time ever, Anthony was just about keeping his eyes open, so we made for home. Stopped at McDonalds on the way home and had a quick bite before the kids went to bed.
Tomorrow our holiday family would be complete at last!! 14 people in the one house!!!
