Catfish @ Coral Reef

I was reading a Disney Guide book and the author said the Catfish w/ pepper jack grits was her husband's favorite dish in all of WDW... Sounds interesting... Anyone have it? We are going for lunch in September...

yep, had it in March and "Ca c'est bon" As a cajun from south Louisiana - I expected to be disappointed. Well, in Louisiana we specialize in Catfish and grits and it was AMAZING!!

Had it last September and it was definitely the best meal I had during our trip. I love catfish, but usually not a fan of grits, but the entire thing was amazing!

I liked it - but found the fish kind of greasy and it tasted kind of "muddy" - i know that's kind of weird but it's the only way I could describe it....kind of like when ocean fish has a strong "fishy" taste....

It was very good -- a little too spicy for my DD which is how I ended up with it, but good nonetheless!

I love catfish and I love spicy but I wasn't over the top for this dish. The tomato salsa was way too overpowering for the fish (all you could taste was the salsa). Once I scraped that off, I was able to eat it but I wasn't blown away. The grits were great though.

I was nervous when my DS, 11, ordered it for lunch, so I ordered the salmon sandwich because I knew he'd like that if he needed to trade.

Well.

He LOVED the catfish and grits and only let me have one small bite! He's not a fan of spicy food, so it says a lot to me that he enjoyed it even with the spices.

I wish I had ordered it, too!

Oh my this is making me hungry! My husband and I both had it last October and it was very good. Definitely a favorite, the cheese grits were perfection! We don't have a ressie for our upcoming trip this October, decided we would try something different but now that you have me thinking about those grits I may have to rethink our choices!

We ordered this dish (Jan 09) along with the Mahi and both were great. So good that we split both dishes! I'll be back again in Sept. for free dining, and I'm thinking I'll order the cat fish! Yum!
