We are finalizing plans for the 11/12/2005 Eastern.

We will have myself, DH, 2DS's, and DD (5 total)

We would like two category 9 cabins, preferably connecting.

Unfortunately, the only connecting cabins left on the ship are on deck one. I am not sure about being on Deck One, and the pictures of the cabins with two portholes don't look that great to me. The one large porthole looks much nicer.

Our other option is to get either 2598 and 2600, or 2050 and 2052. Neither set is connecting, but they do have the large porthole.

So my questions are,

1) How are the category 9 cabins on deck one? Does anyone have any decent pictures of them? (I have seen the pictures on castaway club website.)

2) Any advice on 2598, 2600 or 2050 and 2052?

3) Is it worth giving up the larger porthole to have connecting cabins?

4) Am I just being neurotic even worrying about the small portholes?

Thanks for any suggestions!

You didnt specify the ages of your children...if they are old enough not to require your constant supervision, I would opt for deck 2 2598/2600....these are staterooms in a very good location (aft)....I can't advise you on deck 1, but from what I've read, they may be a bit noisier than deck 2.....

The kids are 11, 8 and 6. I would really like to have my husband and I in one stateroom, and the three of them in the adjoining stateroom, but if we don't have connecting staterooms, one of us would have to sleep in each stateroom. (I currently have a hold on the staterooms on deck 1).

Maybe I should just book the two connecting cabins on deck 1, and keep checking the website to see if anything opens up on Deck 2 between now and then.

First of all......Get your rear on our Nov. 12th/Eastern Cruise Meets! We are finally gaining members and it's fun to hear who's going! :cool1: Glad you could join the fun....tell me what ages are your kids...we have DD(8 1/2 then) and DS(5 3/4 then).... :earsgirl: :earsboy:

We are staying on Deck 2 (2120).....I have heard that deck 1 or deck 2 are great! I, too, have heard that Deck 2 is not as noisy. Yes, I guess it depends on the ages of your children to handle a room that is not connecting. :confused3

I wouldn't fuss about the port holes....how much time are really going to spend in your stateroom? I bet we won't be in ours much. :cheer2:

Take care, DIS NURSE from Oregon :flower:

Disnurse -

As soon as i make the reservations I will join you on the cruise meets! I'm afraid of jinxing anything in the meantime!!! I should be making the reservations on Monday morning!

I totally understand :wave2: ....until I actually saw the $1,000 deposit get charged on the credit card, I didn't even believe it was real that we are going! :cool1:

Other than the size of the portholes.....the cabins on Deck 1 and 2 are identical....as is the decor of the hallways....so don't let that keep you from booking on Deck 1.

I think you will find the convenience and peace of mind of connecting cabins on Deck 1 will far outweigh the larger porthole on Deck 2.

We have stayed on both decks and I would book either one in a heart beat again....keep the cabins on Deck 1...you will love the connecting ones.
