We are right now booked in a category 11. We had it before and it was just fine. I know at port you can upgrade for a cheaper price. Are category 8's nice? Better then category 9? We might to that on our 7 day cruise coming up. About how much will it be. We will be getting to port early so hopefully there will be somthing available.
thanks
Matt
P.S Does anyone have any pictures of a category 8?

Since the category 8 rooms are on upper decks, there is much less risk of being below something noisy (like a nightclub) than there is in a category 9. Other than that, the staterooms are identical. Many people like being higher up in the ship, but I think that tends to be more of a personal preference than something that has a lot of advantages...all decks and locations have their own advantages/disadvantages, so it's best to pick based on your personal criteria. For example, some people say there is more movement on the upper decks due to the pendulum effect, which could make deck 2 more appealing if you are prone to sea sickness. Personally, I love being very far aft because I hate hallway traffic/noise, but many people want to be midship. It all depends on what you are looking for.
