Does anyone know what the pricing structure is for Category 2 cabins. The DCL reservation web page says you have to call them for information. The brochure price is about $4000 per person, but the cabin holds 7 people. Are the remaining 5 people at the usual 3rd, 4th, etc. price of $1000 per person or less? I know the chances of getting one of these cabins is slim since there are only 2, but I don't want to waste my time dreaming about it if the price is going to be outrageous. If the high price is only for the first 2 people, the price is comparable to 2 category 5 cabins. We are looking at going in 2004, and those dates haven't opened up for reservations yet, so I want to be ready when they do if Category 2 looks affordable.
Thanks

For the 7-night cruise the BEST early booking savings rate for a Category 2 is $3899 each for the first and second passenger. For additional passengers the cost is $599 for adults, $399 for children 3-12 and $119 for children 2 and under, again with the BEST early booking savings. These prices do not include government taxes and fees and go up from there.

Thanks. That's what I wanted to know. I guess I'll have to try make reservations immediately when they open our dates. I plan on using Dreams Unlimited. I used AAA for our last 2 Disney Cruises, but they didn't do anything special for us. I knew significantly more than they did thanks to this board. I'll potentially have a group of up to 25 people. I had 16 on the last cruise (7 day Eastern), and they couldn't believe how well I planned their activities, once again, thanks to this board.

FYI, we're booked in the Cat 2 for the May 18. We booked back in February 2000 -- a little over a 2 year wait but definitely worth it!! We previously sailed in May 1999 when the Magic was doing the 3 or 4 day cruises and loved the Cat 2!!!

Eakster,

I would recommend calling and speaking with DCL about your Category 2 request. They can give you information on faxing in a request ahead of time so that they can start a waiting list. I did this a while back and already have my request in so that they can contact me immediately once the reservations for 2004 are open. It doesn't cost you anything to do this and you'll be assured you are contacted early in the process to increase your chances of booking the cabin of your choice; obviously this still does not guarantee you'll get the exact date/cabin of your choice but it should help.

Happy cruising,
Rhonda
