Hello guys....I wonder if anyone that has stayed in a category 12 can enlighten me...we cruised on the Magic in May and wanted to cruise again in December.....December 4th exactly.....anyway....we had to go as cheaply as possible so a category 12 was the choice.....we got a GTY so there is a chance of an upgrade....but if not....is it really noisy being under the nightclubs.....are the cabins on the second deck much different than on the 5th or 6th regarding motion of the ship? Any and all info would be greatly appreciated....
Tom

I have never stayed in one of the Cat 12 rooms before so I can't say for sure about the noise level from the clubs.

We did stay on Deck 2, under WaveBand on the Wonder once. It was not really too bad. We could hear the bass of the music but it was not bothersome to us.

If you are an adult and plan on being out in the evenings enjoying the clubs then you will probably be a part of the noise;) . The noise level drops quite a bit shortly after midnight.

If you have little ones trying to sleep it might be different.

Enjoy your cruise.

Guys...someone has had to stay in a category 12...my DW is already panicking about staying so low in the ship and by the nightclubs...actually just under them...please help me set her mind at ease.....I have time to make changes....please help....

gty means guarantee.
You are guaranteed at least a catagory 12 - but do not receive a specific room assignment yet.

We had a cat 12 in February. We were on deck 6, front, inside hallway. It was quiet, convenient, and nice sized for the three of us. We did not spend a lot of time in our room, primarily to sleep, change clothes, maybe a short nap, so it was the perfect size for us. We were to be on deck 2, but got moved up to deck 6. Some people we met on disboards were on deck 2 and said they did not notice the noise and they had little ones with them.

I haven't stayed in a cat 12 so I have no real experience to tell you about..but we are booked in a cat 12 gty for our first cruise in Sept of this year. I was also concerned about the noise and being so low on the ship....but then I also wanted to look at the bright side...and that being 1) your on the ship...and 2) there are only 13 cat 12 rooms...so the way I figure chances of a upgrade may be pertty good. Now I know...or I have heard upgrades don't happen all that often so I'm not holding my breath...but I do have my fingers crossed. And about the sway of the ship...from my understanding the lower you are the less sway you have...makes sence though.

ksjayhawks...if you were on deck 6 and booked in a cat 12 gty...you must have recieved an upgrade...because the only
cat 12's are on deck 2 ::yes::

We just returned from the 5/27 Wonder, and my DS's (21 & 14) had a cat 12 room on deck 2, room 2019. They said they never heard any noise, and really didn't feel any motion from the ship. I was very impressed with their room, we were down the hall in a Cat 9 outside room, and to me their room was just as nice. I loved my split bath, but I didn't feel cramped in their room at all, when I was in there. Actually when we go again, I am considering a room like theirs.

Thanks all for your responses....honestly, we don't spend much time in the stateroom but I have to admit when we have had a verandah it was just nice sitting outside and early in the morning sitting out and watching the sun come up....but if it means I get to cruise more than it is definately worth it.....again....thanks!

We stayed in a cat 12 in October 2003. We didn't hear any noise from anywhere and actually loved the location. It was one floor up to 2 of the restaurants and 2 floors up to the Walt Disney theatre. Very convenient we thought. We also thought the size of the room was great for the two of us. We didn't feel cramped at all.
