Categories disappeared overnight

I've been watching a cruise on the Magic in May. Majority of 7A and 6A verandahs have shown available, but then overnight both categories disappeared. Has anyone ever seen that happen? Could they have assigned those categories to those who booked gty, or do you think it's a glitch and they'll reappear? I'm sailing on the Wish next week and was holding off booking until I got the OBB discount, but now I'm worried. I usually book a 7A.

I thought I read that they were recategorizing some categories, but I don't know if that applies to the Wish. It's probably a glitch though.

I had this happen to me as well during the week. I was looking at a few cruises and days would disappear for a good day or so and miraculously return! No GTY rooms "spawned" in the category I was initially looking at. It's either a glitch or they were updating something and I successfully booked my cruise this afternoon.

Same here with me that I have seen not only room category disappear but whole cruises disappear.

A few years ago I was looking to check prices on a cruise we already booked. When I looked up the cruise it was gone almost as tho it was sold out. I did not think this was possible and it was back a few days later with plenty of room available.

When you are ready to actually book you might consider calling DCL rather than booking online. I recall a couple of years ago while booking a cruise by calling DCL that they have access to more room choices than might appear online. Can't say if that is true today.

The cruise I'm on in 29 days disappeared completely from view for several days back in September. I couldn't imagine it was sold out so I called and she said that it's a recurring glitch they have and that there were plenty of rooms available.

She also noted that even if you are trying to book for a certain number of people (especially 4/5) and a room doesn't show available to call as the website for some reason is not very good at showing full availability.

I just did a chat with a DCL rep, and she said 7A wasn't available from what she could see either. I'll just keep watching to see if it pops back up. Although from what I understand, the folks doing chat are on a different system than the reps on the phone. So maybe I should call also.

It seems terribly early to be giving out GTY spots. I didn't get mine both times I've done it until less than 30 days out.
I know on my 8 Night upcoming Magic sailing some GTY folks are already announcing on FaceBook that they are getting their room assigned. Most of them were GTY for 7A and were being assigned Cat 5A rooms instead. Seems awfully early to me since there is still more than 60 days to sail. For the record, our room is still listed as GTY on this sailing.

So keep in mind you are looking at live inventory. If someone just looks and clicks on a room it will hold it for approximately 15 mins but, if they do a courtesy hold it will remove that room or, if it’s the last room in that category, it will not show up anymore. It could possibly go back into inventory sometime in the middle of the night unless Disney has recalled it back. I used to work at DCL and people would call about this a lot so I’d tell them just to keep looking first thing every AM when they wake up. Hopefully you get what you are looking for once onboard the ship when you’re thinking about booking!! 🤞🏼
