On the Disney Cruise Line site, the floor plans for the Deluxe Statroom w/ Verandah (Category 5 or 6) look identical to the Deluxe Family Stateroom with Verandah (Category 4 or 5).

If I need a cabin to sleep 4, is the only difference location? or is there a difference in size/layout of cabin?

Thanks

A cat 4 is slightly bigger than a cat 5/6. It is about 30 sq ft larger, basically to allow another bed (murphy bed) to pull down next to the veranda doors. If your party is only 4, you really don't need this room (as it sleeps 5) and is a LOT more than a cat 5/6. Other than this difference, there is no difference between the two cabins.

There is no difference between the cat 5/6 except which deck it's located on. The cat 6's are are on decks 5 and 6 and the cat 5's are on deck 7. There are no cat 6's that sleep 4 on deck 5, so basically you're looking at a one deck difference. The difference is usually $200 between the two categories, and I usually book a cat 6 if available, since there is no difference.

How good it is to have read your reply jel0511. I am trying to figure out which to book in 2006. Can't talk Dh into Cat 3.

Depending on how much the difference is and how many people will be staying in your room, that added bit of difference in a Cat 4 can be nice. I believe 5 and 6 are the same, but are on different floors.
