One of our 8 year old cats, Beatrice, has decided that between 5 and 6 am is the perfect time to be up and playful. The head of our bed is up against the window in our tiny bedroom, and Beatrice will walk up and sit/stand our our heads to paw at the curtains and get a good view out the window.
Her favorite early morning playground is the bathroom, where she enjoys rattling the mini-blinds until she can get her head between them and look out, pawing at the shower curtain, or unrolling and shredding the toilet paper (discussed in a thread a few weeks ago). We've taken to making sure the bathroom doors are shut and then placing bricks against them to keep them shut (old house, doors don't latch), but Bea in her "voluptuousness" has often shouldered the doors open and reclaimed her playground...
We've taken to using the water spray bottle and also turning the shower on her if she's in the tub...works great, but I hate moving at 5:30 in the morning and then not being able to fall back asleep! Grr...good thing Bea is so darn cute!
Her sister, Rosalind, is not at all disruptive. She just eats non-food items and makes herself sick all the time...
But we love our cats, or we wouldn't put up with this nonsense, right?
