cat story......fate?

Right before hurricane Charley, I was at the Petsmart getting supplies and noticed a cat in their adoption center (Sophie) a beautiful face and a 2 inch tail, for some reason she called to me....but with a pending storm I just went about my business and went home......about 4 days later she was still there and I decided to put an application in to adopt her, well someone beat me to it and she was to be picked up that day. I went to bed with my other kitties and thought to myself how nice that Sophie has a bed to sleep in too.................for some reason I kept wanting to go to Petsmart but my dad wanted to go for dinner, that was Friday, on Saturday I still felt the need to go to Petsmart, not that I needed anything..........well Sophie was still there but was being adopted by an older couple, I asked about her and they said they were sure she would be going home that day with them, heck I even stayed in the parking lot and watched them leave with her. Now another week has passed and another hurricane is looming, Ivan so after work I stopped to pick up a couple of extra things just in case, and guess who was back? The couple returned her because they didn't want to pay the pet deposit at their apt. So guess who has a new kitty coming home tomorrow? So I guess Sophie and my 4 other kitties will be trying to stay safe if this storm does come my way.....but I am sure she is meant to be mine. For some reason I kept being drawn back and she kept returning................

Didn't want to pay the pet deposit at their apartment?? They weren't aware of this before they adopted her?? Oh brother...it's probably best that she didn't go to them.

And the good news is she is going to a place where she will be loved and adored and treated like the precious kitty she is!

I was at Petsmart with 2 of my kids on Sunday and my 16yo DD wanted to go into that cat area. There were a bunch of 4mo kittens. I was ok looking at them and talking to them until I got to the last cage. A 4mo buff colored kitty woke up, looked at me, and started purring, loud enough for us to hear on the other side of the crate. I was so taken with him, but my DH would have had a fit.

If this was our local Petsmart I'd be back for sure, but it's about 1/2 hour away so I can't just pop in there.

My DH and I are going to WDW later this month and my in-laws are going to watch our kids (and our pets) and it really wouldn't be good timing to bring a kitten in (I'd want to very closely supervise a kitten's time with one of our dogs). We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 4 kids and really was NOT looking for another cat, but I fell for this one!

BTW, my DH says "no way".

I'm glad that you got your kitty, though! How many cats do you have?

Thanks for all the well wishes.........it's kinda odd since I am almost always drawn to all white cats, I have 3 of them and one is 20 years old. The strange thing about that is when I was little my grandfather's all white cat scratched me and gave me imfatigo?
I am so excited to get her I probably will not sleep tonight! As if worrying about Ivan heading this way isn't enough!
But thanks again, I will try and post a photo once she is settled in.

That's so wonderful . I grew up with three cats that my aunt rescued from the street, and I just loved them to pieces! I'm so happy that Sophie has a good home.
I really hope you and Sophie won't get hit by another storm.

That’s so nice and it does sound like it was meant to be. Same thing happened with my Bailey (see below!). Saw him at a Petsmart and fell in love with him, but they said he was already taken and the person would be picking him up soon. But I went back and he was still there – the person who had reserved him hadn’t returned to pick him up (yet). So they told me I could have him. And he’s the best kitty ever.

Sophie spent her first night home last night and it really wasn't to bad....she is very responsive to me but my 3 other kitties just are not to sure yet, there has been some hissing and yelling but no fights, hopefully today things will settle in, I only hope that I won't be packing everybody up because of Ivan! But as of right now she is doing well and I am glad I brought her home......thanks again for all the well wishes. She has a really short tail and she wags it alot, it reminds me of how a deer swings there tail, it's actually kinda comical.
