Cat Question Update!

I know I've asked this before but I searched and couldn't find the thread. Sorry! I need to buy a flea treatment for my cat. She had the Frontline Combo from the Vets but this is only available on prescription and 6 pipettes costs £31! I know you can get the Frontline (not combo) online a lot cheaper. What would others recommend? The Combo stops the fleas laying eggs in carpets etc, which is why it appeals to me.

Anyone recommend a treatment and dvise where to buy it?

My 3 cats all have the frontline injections every 6 months at the vets. I can't remember how much they cost but they are very good. We have never had fleas in our house since they started to have them 12 years ago.

Does your cat wear a collar? If so, maybe a flea collar would be the way to go. No liquid chemicals, no injections, and no stress for the cat. Although it only works if the cat is used to wearing a collar.... we got a flea collar for our cat, and our cat hadn't work a collar before.... it stressed him out and he ended up getting it stuck in his mouth :-( So no more collars for him.

Sorry - I had to laugh! My Boo did exactly this the one and only time I tried to put a collar on him - he just ended up gagging himself and squealing like a girl. I felt awful at the time as he was acting like it was the end of the world - drama queen!

Jules - I have also seen them online, but you need a prescription I think. When we get ours I tend to task if there are any offers on, and usually if we buy like a 12 pack it's a lot of ££ in one go, but it mkes them a lot cheaper per pipette.

Same with their milbemax tablets.

Not sure how much the injections cost. I have to take Cleo to the vets on Wednesday to have her stitches out so I will have a look for you then.

Mine charge for writing prescriptions too - they don't want you going elsewhere!

I think I'll buy the combo from them this time and then get the spot-on treatment without prescription online after that.
