After the vet came in I told him the problems we were having and asked for his advice. He did a full examination and said to me in a very grim voice, "we will need to remove these two tumors".

I said, "TUMORS"? WHERE!!!!


He just looked at me.

I had to laugh when I saw this! The same thing happened with our beautiful ginger cat 6 years ago. We got her from a rescue centre and was told it was a ginger tom (male) cat. We didn't question it since most ginger cats are boys (something to do with the genes apparently). However, when we took "Simba" to the vets for a check up, he said I might want to consider renaming "him" Nala since we had a female! We stuck with Simba as she was already answering to that name. Also, we found out that Simba just means Lion in Swahili so I figured her name gives her a confidence boost!

Can't comment on the declawing issue as it is illegal over here in England. I must say that I personally couldn't do this to a cat of mine but we must each do what we feel is right in our own particular circumstances.

Well, one more week to get through. Luigi is a terror!! He came in the morning and peed on my son's Disney Adventure magazine next to the toliet so I took him and stuffed him in litter box. Ugh! Not sure how much more I can take. Is it cruel to withhold water from Luigi for a week? Just kidding. Lord knows, there is no fouler liquid on the earth than cat urine.

Shadow has taken permanent residence on the kitchen table. Pete says he, Shadow, and I need to have a party next Friday while Luigi is recovering overnight at the vet from getting snipped because Shadow will have the house all to himself, at least for one day.

Still debating in my mind the declawing. Luigi has ruined so many of our things, he seems to dig at everything, but most importantly, it's Shadow. I was brushing him last night and found quite a few scabbed over puncture marks around his neck and back. I literally cried last night. I really want to throttle Luigi sometimes, but I now he is acting on instinct and it's not really his fault. Hang in there Shadow, one more week baby, one more week.
