Cat or Dog?

I've always been a dog person--mainly because I'm terribly allergic to cats.

I used to think I disliked cats (my only experience was with a really mean cat that my grandmother had) but DH had a cat that changed my mind. She was an older cat and had such personality and she totally latched on to me--she'd follow me everywhere, even to the bathroom. If she couldn't get to me, she'd cry, and she'd sneak in at night and drape herself around my head. The better to make me sneeze, I think. :rotfl: I fell in love with that cat.

Without a doubt cats.

Dogs are just too much work and I don't like being jumped on, licked and followed around all day.

Not into dogs at all.

Of course DH and DS are begging for a dog. I'll probablly give in and do all the work. Play with the dog, treat it all nice but I'd be happy to never own a dog whereas I'd feel like something was 'missing' if I didn't have a cat.

As a cat person, I will say the lack of respect cats get really bothers me. In our area people drowned some stray dogs, and I agree that it was horrible, but it wouldn't have been such a big deal had they drowned cats.
