:cat: As the proud new parents of a Siberian kitten, we are cat condo shopping. (They are supreme jumpers.) The ones in Petsmart, etc. are usually made of carpet, but the ones I find online are made with faux fur. I have some other products made with what I believe is a similar material, so I think I have a grasp of what it's like.

What has been your experience with carpet vs. faux fur? I'm looking at a cat condo of at least 6 feet in height.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

My experience would be that cats like to curl up on faux fur but for climbing probably the carpet is a better bet. My cat doesn't have any interest in her cat condo any more and it is a carpeted one but when she was a kitten, it got a lot of use!

I just bought a cat tree/condo on Ebay on Sunday for $35. I was trying to decide between faux fur and berber. They are sooooo much cheaper on Ebay than they are on Amazon but be sure to read the reviews on amazon as some of them get poor reviews. I bought a small one 36" one, but they do have larger ones.

We have one of each. In the basement is the carpeted one. In the loft is the faux fur one. There appears to be very little difference between how much the kittens like them. I've found that what most directly impacts how much our cats like cat condos is how tall they are - the taller the better. Everything else seems to be noise in the equation.
