Just heard back from DU.
We have a res for Sept 2005 on the Magic (Western)
In a Cat 4.
We did the Eastern in a Cat 4 Last year with no problem.
It will be me DW , DD 9 , DD 6, DS 3.
It would cost $300 more to get two adjoining Cat 7s (Nav Verandahs).
Would like opinions on pros and Cons.
I am leaning toward the 2 rooms. An Extra Bathroom , an Extra TV , More Space without giving up the Verandah I Love.
Anyone who has had the enclosed one to the reg verandah How do they compare. Being In the rear to you feel vibrations from the engines.

For only $300 I would definitely go for the 2 connecting rooms. We did a Cat 4 with 3 kids and it was very tight. Next cruise (Feb 2005) we are doing 2 connecting rooms.

For that price difference, I would definitely lean toward the two Cat 7s...Two bathrooms, plus the possibility of a little privacy for me and my wife. Also, you'll have easy verandah access which you won't in the Cat 4 with the twin bed folded down.

When I booked our upcoming cruise, I asked Dreams to price out a Cat 4 vs. a couple of Cat 8s or 9s. I was considering even giving up the verandah for the extra room (and lower cost). However, at that point in time (last September), there were no remaining Cat 8s or 9s in connecting configurations for the dates I wanted...So my decision was made for me.

And that brings to mind another very important point: With the ages of your children, I would think that you would want to be sure that you specify "connecting" cabins, not just "adjacent". (You said adjoining...I don't know if that would be considered the same as connecting or not.) That's what killed the option for me...I could have gotten adjacent cabins, but with my children's ages (11, 7, and 4), I definitely wanted connecting.

Good luck with your decision! :earsboy:

I'd definitely go for the 2 connecting Cat 7's! We originally booked 2 connecting Cat 8's for our 5-1 cruise because when we did the 4 day Wonder we had a Cat 4 and it felt SO crowded and so this time we wanted our own room and the kids could have their "pen". We were comp upgraded to 2 connecting Cat 4's and it was heaven to have the balcony and able to put the kids to bed, watch some tv or sit on the balcony with a cocktail and just have alone private time with dh! If it was a lot more to upgrade to 2 rooms I may not but the 2 bathrooms was SO handy and the 2 bathtubs were nice for the boys!

I wouldn't hesitate to book 2 rooms again no matter what vacation we plan!

Thanks all.

Went ahead and got 6640 -42 Connecting rooms with the Navigator Verandahs.
Total Increase was a little under $300.
It took some convincing on the DW but the extra Bathroom without sacrificing the Verandah was Key.
Now all I have to do is wait 15 months.

We'll be in those two room this year in September 4th so we'll let you know how it works out!
Our 1st cruise with all 5 of us was 1 cat 4 and from now on, it will be connecting rooms, even if it means sacrificing the veranda. We had 2 connecting cat 9s for a 3 day in February of this year and it was much better with the 2 bathrooms and the extra space not to mention more privacy for Mom & Dad than the curtain offered ;)
