I love wait listing! Just found out from our TA that a cat. 3 became available and we took it. Last two years we were in cat. 3 8548. I noticed 8032 is shaped a little different. Has any one stayed in 8032?

This a our Christmas surprise for our daughter. We are going on the special 7 day that is over New Year's Eve. It is a Tues. to Tues. cruise. Our daughter thinks we are in a cat. 6. She knows she won't be able to sign up for the hair braiding right after we board like she did the past two years. The best part--she thinks we are scheduled to go over Spring Break in March. I can't wait for Christmas. She will open up her gift and will be surprised because we leave on the 26th for WDW, we will spend one day at the parks then off to the port. Wait listing does work!

Congrats on the room!
We are waitlisted for one of those 4 rooms for the 10 day cruise right before yours. Those rooms have a better layout for those of us with more than 1 child because the murphy pull down bed is in the living area instead of the Master bedroom like the rest of the suites. We are currently in #8080 and very happy to have a cat.3 , but would LOVE one of those other rooms.

Happy Cruising!!

We have been in both 8032 and 8532 (same room-other side of ship). 8032 is a great Cat 3 cabin! While it might not be much larger than the other Cat 3 cabins, it does have advantages.

The pull down bed is in the living room section, not in the bedroom. Whether you use it or not, we like this configuration as the living room is bigger.

The verandah is triple wide versus double wide for most of the other Cat 3's. It is huge!

We also like the mid ship location by the stairs and elevators (which we rarely used). Out the door and up or down some stairs gets you anywhere quick. Noise from the hall was never an issue despite the location.

The only drawback is that you will get some noise from above on deck 9, especially in the evening and during deck parties. Early morning noise was not a problem. My wife is a light sleeper and the noise did not bother her too much. We slept with the verandah door open a bit and that helped drowned out any noise.

Thank you for the answers. I thought it might have the pull down bed in the living room area. I know 8548 (the room we had for the last two cruises) had the pull down in the master bedroom. A triple wide balcony, wow, and I thought the double wide was big. We use the verandah a lot so this is great news.

I can't wait to see our daughter's eyes when she opens her gift on Christmas. She will be thrilled to find out that we have the concierge service so she can get her hair braided early on during the cruise.

Thanks again. Kathy

They stack all the chairs at night on deck 9 and put them back in the morning. It made us crazy on the first cruise because we couldn't figure out what all the noise was before sunrise. It wasn't really that loud but I think our curiousity made it worse. after a few days, husband went up (in his pj's) and we all got a laugh out of it. We travel with desk top fans which make a pleasant background noise. don't forget the extension cords. the 4 center cat 3's are so much more spacious as the living rooms get the extra space. you will love the room.

I am prepared for the morning noise. We did hear some in 8548 and on our Celebrity Milli. cruise we were also on the deck right below the lido deck. Why they put the suites right below this deck is a question I always wanted to ask the ship designers. Our Princess cruise was also the same way but that room was farther aft so not near the noise but there was still some noise. Oh well, a little white noise will take care of it. Extension cords, never take a cruise without them :). Kathy

You will not believe how much bigger this Cat 3 is to the others.
It's amazingly beautiful! We were told the lay out was bigger - wider, when we rebooked on board, but I wasn't prepared for such a spacious suite. Having the 3 verandahs was unbelieveable. It brightens up the room and gives a wonderful view! One verandah off the living room, one off the dining area and one off the bedroom.

It was nice not to have to climb over the pull down bed to reach the verandah from the master bedroom. Even with the pull down in the living room, there was still so much room to walk around.

The suite we were in was below the ping ball table. It was port side. Ick. But not enough Ick to be bothered..... I only wanted to hide the paddles and balls ONE time ;) Just kidding.

Hi Kathy;

This is fun to read about 8032. We are booked in that room for the 14 day repo cruise to California. Others have told me that it is larger than some other cat 3's. We can't wait to see it. It should be nice to have that extra room (and dining area) during a 14 day cruise. Have a great time....and take some pics of that room for us!

I am in 8032 for the Nov. 6th Western. I have the Disney Cruise DVD and you can see a 360 degree picture of 8032 ( or it is at least one of the 4 larger ones) on the DVD. It looks awesome. Have you had the concierge before. Perks like you can order full breakfast from one of the restaurants and full dinner. That is one thing I am looking forward to especially breakfast. Anyways congratulations on the waitlist. That is great:earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

Yes, we have had the concierge service before. The last two DCL cruises were in stateroom 8548, a cat. 3. The hot breakfast is wonderful, no hassel with topsiders and we get to eat in our PJ's. I like the service of going to Sessions, meeting with the concierge staff and getting all resservations done in one step. I need to know, you mentioned a DVD, how did you get your copy? I would like one if it isn't too late.

I will have my husband take pictures and post. He did a great job of informing people about the very first 7 day the Magic took. I couldn't believe the number of hits our trip reports took. This DIS thing is addictive but at least it isn't a bad addiction. We just love the mouse--esp. when he is on the water.
Thanks Kathy

We have been in 8030 on our last 2 cruises (right next to 8032)
and on the last morning on one of our cruises we went into 8032 to check it out. It is beyond description and you will definately be thrilled with your accomodations. No matter what anyone tells you about this suite and how nice it is, you will still be very pleasantly surprised when you get there. As for the noise issue, I can assure you that the little noise that you hear from above is so far outweighed by that amazing suite that you will definately be pleased with your wait list wait.

We are in 8030 on your cruise (11/6) right nextdoor to you. We'll see you in about 6 weeks. Can't wait !

The DVD that I speak of is the free one that Disney will send you. When you get it go to the deck layout and then go to deck 8 and it will say Cat 3 and go to that and you will see the splendor that awaits you. Have a great cruise.
