If you did not send a postcard/letter/fax to inventory control - is it possible to still get a cat 2 or a cat 3 for Alaska if you are calling in on Monday (either 21 or 28)?

If so, how would you do that?

If you can't call until the 28th, do you think those rooms will be all gone?

Mac

It depends on the date and interest, but there is always a chance. In the IC thread, someone was quoted 14.5K for a family of 4 on an Alaskan cruise, and I don't think it is being taken. If it is in your price range, and the dates work, I think there will be availability. Good luck!

The dates are 9/21 for guests booking cat 4-11 who have completed 5 or more sailings on DCL, 9/28 for general booking. It's part of the new enhanced benefits for people who have done multiple sailings.

Sorry, I don't know how these dates interact with the suite bookings, but if I wanted one, I'd have my TA on the phone to DCL on Monday! Based on the prices I've seen, I don't see how they can be too popular, but other opinions will differ.

I'm sure the prices will be hair raising:scared1:

I don't know why people spent so much more to cruise DCL (Alaska & Med) when you can sail almost three times on other lines, I'm from the school of more is better.

We love Disney, but are not crazy. Even though we could cruise Alaska on points I'd rather sail twice on the newer ship.

I did RCCL this summer and though I would consider it again (or Celebrity which we love and did Alaska with in 2003), we'll have a 1.5yo in 2011 so DCL is our only option as far as having a 'club' for our little one. We do like Disney's service much better than RCCL or Princess, but I think Celebrity was equal, possibly better. It's just that nursery for kids under 3yo, and really also the kids programming in general and my kids weren't blown away by RCCL at their current ages (but I know when they are older they will love the rock wall and flow rider).

FWIW, we'll be trying for a Cat 3 tomorrow morning. We did send in a fax to IC and for the Baltic cruise we got a call from IC the day after bookings were released, so I still have hope, but we'll be calling tomorrow cause I won't count on that happening again.

Have you looked at your Castaway Club account online? Inventory control has been adding the waitlist reservations as a future cruise (for gold and platinum levels this week). I don't think anyone has received a call yet.

I did check a couple of days ago and nothng was there but I guess i'll check again. I should check for my husband too as he was the one who got the phone call last time, not me. We are gold level so I do have some hope, but I know we can't be lucky every time.

For the 2007 Med cruise, we called the mornng bookings were released and got an aft Cat 3, so I am hoping for the same tomorrow. It's all on my husband this time though cause I have a dr's appt in the morning. Luckily he's working overnight tonight an will be home by 8am tomorrow.
