Cat. 12 guaranteed?

I looked up my quote from DU and noticed it said cat. 12 guaranteed. Now I understand that I will get at least a cat. 12 room and when I get to the port I get my room number. So in the off chance that I might get an upgrade should I get to the port later in the day? As I understand the catagory guarantee is on a first come first serve basis or am I misunderstanding this? Help please.Thanks in advance.

I believe you will get your room number when you get your documents most likely. At that time, you will see if you are in the Cat 12 or upgraded. You might have to go find your room assignment on the deck plans and see what catergory you're in. They won't scream "UPGRADE" (but you will if you receive one LOL)

If they have several rooms available on your sailing, they will sometimes offer "deals" for the lower categories (10-12) and people guaranteed in those categories can receive upgrades.
