I am looking at a cat. 10 or 11 room, but the cat. 10 rooms are on deck 1 or 2, whereas the cat. 11 is on deck 7. This is my 1st time, and I don't know which one would be better. The cat. 11 is very close to the secret deck, which would be neat!

Any suggestions?

If you're going to have more than two people in your cabin, I would go for the Cat. 10. The split bathroom is GREAT. And it seems that the lower decks may offer a smoother ride.

Remember that with a CAT 11 you will lose the split bath that a CAT 10 has. We loved this feature since we were all always trying to get ready at the same time. There is a toilet/sink in one side and tub/shower/sink in the other. Great setup.

As to the floor we have stayed in CAT 10s on both deck 2 and deck 7 and preferred deck 7 because it seemed less hectic and quieter.

Have they sold out all of the CAT 10s on decks other than 1 or 2? There are 6 CAT 10s on deck 5 and another 9 on deck 7.

theres 6 rooms (5520, 5522 & 5524, 5020, 5022 & 5024) that are booked as inside rooms but they have a blocked porthole. Some are blocked more than others

I couldnt get the secret porthole, cat 10 on deck 5, I would go for the 11. To me, being higher up on the ship outweighs the split bath. It basically depends what is more important to you.

We cruised twice in Cat. 11 w/4 of us....although the kids are age 11 and 3. We only have 1 bathroom at home, so this was not too tough to share. We were on deck 6 midship and deck 7 aft, near the secret deck..........both locations were great. On deck 7, we would order room service in the afternoon and then slip out to the deck to share it.....only about 2 people there at the most. It was wonderful.

We also had a cat 11 room 7127. We're getting it again for our 3-day in June. With 2 adults and ds 11, we never had a problem. The difference in price is only about $100 for us to upgrade, but why! We were hardly in the room but to sleep and get cleaned up. Having the one bathroom was never a problem. It was very quiet and convenient.

Have fun!

If I couldn't get an SPR, I too would go with the cat. 11. That's what we did for our upcoming Western (wanted to save some $$, since it is replaced a 3-day Wonder trip, and we booked it way too late to get an SPR). While the split bath is nice, it's just hubby and I so we can work around each other. I'm not a big fan of deck 2, as I've had a couple of bad experiences with noise down there. I think for the Magic I took a room on deck 6 aft, figuring we'd be right below the secret verandah so we could run up there and use it but wouldn't get any hallway noise from people seeking it out (it was doing a booming business on our last Magic trip...I guess that with the internet, it's not so "secret" anymore!).

We were able to get a cat 10 on deck 7 -- # 7003 and it was great. I'm a high deck person myself so wanted to be guaranteed deck 7. So if you can get a deck 7 room or one of the secret porthole rooms -- go for the 10.

The "secret" deck at Deck 7 Aft is a smallish outdoor deck area accessible through a discreet door at the absolute aft end of Deck 7. Not too many people know about it because it's not marked on Disney's deck plans. There are no services out there, but it's a pleasant place to enjoy the sun away from the crowds. And it's very nice to be near if you have a Category 11 inside room near Deck 7 Aft.

I'm still a little unsure of which one to do. I really like the idea of being close to the secret deck 7, but the split bath sounds really good too. We will have our 2 yr. old with us, and I think the extra (little!) space may be nice.

disneyfan you say cat. 11 is only on Deck 7? I know we booked 2 category 11 cabins on deck 6 (I know they are also on deck 5 because my friend was on deck 5) and we booked the exact same cabins again. You might want to go with cat. 10 for extra space. Don't have layout so don't know what decks these are on.
