You would think after several trips I would know the answer to this, but I am an airhead sometimes, so here's my question:

Since I hate to wear shorts, what can I wear comfortably in the parks in Oct, that will also be lightweight in my luggage?

I have worn sundresses in the past, but have found them a little too dressy. I bought some capris, but can't see myself wearing capris every day for 10 days. I tried to vary a little by buying jean capris and lightweight ones, but I also don't want to weigh my luggage down with a lot of jean type stuff. Before WDW, we are spending 4 additional days visiting people & working in other parts of FL, so I will need some nicer stuff that is still very casual. I am attempting to limit my packing to versatile stuff, to meet the 50lb limit, and only take one suitcase for my clothes.

Any non-shorts, non-skirts advice?
Thanks!

Washed-linen trousers? The casual sort with wide cuffs and a drawstring waist, perhaps? I'm not recommending pressed linen; that tends to get a bit itchy. I have a few prs. of really soft washed-linen trousers that I wear to work on really hot days when I have to dress to meet clients; they are more comfortable than dresses because I don't have to wear hose with them.

Skorts? Comfort of shorts look of a skirt. I love 'em although I have gained weight I don't wear them. Hopefully I am back in them by our trip in October!

I used to not wear shorts because my legs are fat. After being uncomfortable for years in pants, I finally said forget it, I don't know these people, I'm wearing shorts! We just got back, it was 90+, I can't imagine not wearing shorts.

You may want to try some knit pants. I've found some inexpensive ones at my Wal-mart that have elastic waist and pockets. Very similar to sweats without the heaviness or band at the leg. Plus--they are light weight and pack with ease. Also come in a range of colors. Very comfy.

Check out Lands' End clothing. They have some knit pants - Sport Knit Pants - that are great for work and for play. Lots of polos and tees as well. They have dressy shorts and skorts. Plus bathing suits out the kazoo. Check out their website - landsend.com - to see what they have. Classics, great colors, lots to choose from. They carry petites, misses, womens sizes. Plus mens and kids.

How about some walking shorts? Covers more of your upper legs and are very comfortable. I wear them all summer and also lightweight cotton pants which are especially apreciated when going into an A/C restaurant for a meal.

Have a wonderful vacation.
