Thinking of adding on, The castle to castle promotion does anyone know what kind of Annual Passes are included, are they the regular or the premium. I wasn't going to add on so I never paid attention but having alreay borrowed points from my 2011 use year I am thinking of it now.

We were just at disney and took the tour for new members or members looking to add on our guide advised us that their other current promotions/incentitives are much better. I believe he said it's many months until you actually recievethe ap's. I would definately check into all you options....good luck

I spoke with our guide on Wednesday about it and with a 100-159 pt add-on you get 4 adult standard AP vouchers, with 160+ pt add-on you get 8 adult standard AP vouchers. If you choose DL vouchers they do expire, I believe sometime in 2011. If you choose WDW vouchers they never expire. Depending on how much you put down and whether you finance it or not, there could be as much as a 14 month waiting period before they give you the APs. They basically want to recoupe their costs so if you put down a large down payment your wait is much less. Obviously if you pay cash you get them right away.

You also have the option of taking a cash discount in lieu of the APs, something like $1600 for 100-159 pt add on and $2400 for 160+ add on. We were thinking of doing a 160 pt add-on so the value of 8 adult APs would be more than the $2400 cash discount, around $3200 for 8 APs.

Also, since we have a March UY we would also get free 2009 points that can be banked immediately.

You do pay full price, $112/pt, for taking advantage of these incentives but in our case the incentive value totals almost $5000 if we assume the value of the 2009 points is around $10/pt so that effectively brings the cost per point down to around $82/pt. That's less than many AKV resales right now. Its a very tempting offer and I'm having a hard time resisting :)

I did this one in November, so i got all of 2008 points , 2009 points and 8 annual passes, which you will receive 4 after you pay 8 payments and then 4 after you pay more payments. I thought it was a great deal!

I am thinking of adding on 100 points via this promo. Would I get 2009 points with a December UY?

Yes, you would get 2009 points if you have a December UY. The points would expire on 11/30/2010, which is the end of the 2009 December UY. Of course, you could bank some or all of the points into your 2010 UY, which would extend the life of these points until 11/30/2011.

Thank you for such a prompt answer. That's fab to know - we're planning a DL trip for April 2011 so that would be a perfect fit...

I think we all know I will be ringing my guide tomorrow!!! :rolleyes1

Question- I may be miss reading this, but have a question about the AP's included. When you say WDW vouchers never expire, are you saying its an AP forever, like you get an unlimited one to use until forever, or are you saying that it doesn't expire as to when you can first use it. Sorry I'm new at the DVC thing, thinking about purchasing and I'm really trying to convince my sales guy to throw in some passes...but he's not budging... Sorry to hijack the thread with my question!

The vouchers can be turned in at any time in the future, there is no expiration on when you can do that.

Once turned in, you will get a standard AP (good for one year). But, even for a family of 4, those AP vouchers could cover trips for 4 years, if trips were staggered to allow two during one calendar year. We do that now. We travel mid August one year, and then early August the next. This way we have to buy AP's only every other year.

Got it, that makes sense... I was thinking man a lifetime AP, where do I signup for one of those?!?!?!? :lmao: But knowing all of us, we'd probably buy them!!! Maybe Disney should look into that!!! :rotfl2:

I know what you mean. I would be adding on more points in a heartbeat!!

Actually, when DVC first started, one of the incentives was a free length of stay pass for trips (I believe for the first 4 or 5 years). Of course, at that time, the minimum purchase was like 200+ points and the only resort was OKW.
