Does anyone know the extent of the castle Refurb going on right now? What is closed down and a possible timeline for how long this refurb will take place. Pictures would be great. Thanks
The only thing closed now is the stage area and surrounding sidewalks in front of the castle. There's also some scrims up off to the sides where they appear to be placing lighting/speaker towers for the stage

A little off topic but we were there for 4th of July and there were some tree scrims (I think that is what they are called?) in front of some of the new turrets (I had seen pics of the spires on the highway being trucked in and thought it was cool to see them in person even if not fully). No big deal, I knew going in they had not been unveiled yet. Well, a week or so after coming back home I read online about how the turrets were revealed on July 9. I thought wait, July 9 was our last day (we went to MK first and last)! How did I not notice? I started scrolling through my pics to see if I could tell the tree scrims were gone and lo and behold I found this pic. It was a total DUH!! moment!

Funny! After reading your story, I logged into the PhotoPass site to check if the same thing happened to me (we finally got our "Main Street" group photo the last morning of our trip on Wednesday), and I can still see the scrims in the background beside the castle.
The castle area is still a big mess - no going through the castle at all, construction walls up, scrims, and even some areas where you can see the workers pounding away at stuff. Not very magical, IMO. Add that it's just plain and desolate without the trees, and I am not impressed with the hub expansion right now at all. Ugly!

You have to go around by way of the side paths then enter from the Fantasyland side. That part looks rather dreary too - more scrims, etc.
Add the scrims in Asia along the water at Animal Kingdom, the closed sections at Hollywood Studios, the scrims/closed areas in Future World and Norway at Epcot, and the place is bordering on looking like one big construction zone.
