Castle photo bombs are SO not magical!

We just got back from a fantastic week in the world and had an amazing time! One big goal while there was to get some fun family photos for Christmas cards and for around the house. So we, along with the seeming majority of Magic Kingdom visitors, sought the infamous family in front of the castle and other fun photos. I was super pumped about all our great pics... until I saw them. Why hello, group of 3 laughing & scheming women, who are actually trying to lean around and bomb our family photos! And hey there, scary creeper dressed in black, who is strangely staring and grinning at my 6 year old princess who is posing like Elsa. And I don't want to forget you, woman with a grand canyon wedgie, who is displaying it directly beside our unknowing and happily smiling family. Can't not look at it!! Now don't get me wrong... I totally understand that there are LOTS of people at MK and you can't eliminate everyone from our special pictures all of the time. However, I genuinely wish Disney would try to set aside a small space reserved away from all the McStrangers threatening to bomb my magical family photo. Anyone else struggle with not-so-magical Disney photo bombs that ruined a great picture?

The crane tends to photobomb me a lot. In all seriousness though, if this bothers you look into having photopass take your picture in some of the less crowded locations they are. Otherwise, book a pre park opening breakfast and do it then so you get very low to no crowds in your shots. People are going to be in your pictures at Disney during regular open hours, it's just going to happen.

Yes, I understand... and I did those suggestions as well. We do have some good ones with few people, but I was surprised (and humored) by the several not-so-magical moments we captured as well. This is largely supposed to be light-hearted in nature :)

I was very upset that we could not get a single picture from our last trip because of people 'photo bombing' not just being there but actually trying and succeeding in truly ruining my chances of having a picture Christmas card worthy. Luckily I have a nephew with good photo editing software and we have a good picture now. It is very upsetting, I agree!

There's people really good with photoshop that could remove people from the background... Ask around and I'm sure you'll find someone who can do it!

This. If you have one photo in particular that you'd like fixed, I've had great luck on r/photoshoprequest on reddit. They are more than happy to remove something unwanted from your picture.

What bothered me were those who INTENTIONALLY photobombed our pictures. I don't find that cute or funny at all! I caught my 10 year old niece trying to photobomb a family last summer and I threatened to take her back to the hotel for the day if she tried it again. I am an old fuddy duddy though.

We think it's a hoot when we find a photo-bomber in any of our pictures! There's so many of us though that it's tough to get another person in our pics so we think it's funny. Like someone else said - it's all in fun - we're all on vacation and in a fun playful mood.

Probably shouldn't admit this...but...a few years ago my son was going to follow one family around for the day and casually end up in their pictures. Not doing anything goofy, just being "around" We were laughing about how long it would take them to notice him when they had their pictures printed. No flames...he didn't do it. Just laughed at the thought. Sometimes a good photobomber can make the picture!

Accidental photobombs are unavoidable in a place like WDW. I get that. But I rarely find intentional ones amusing. Given the crowds, its hard to take a family photo over and over and over again, just to get one clear, good shot. Unless I'm just trying to catch an unposed, carefree moment, I prefer my shots free of the morons who think that injecting themselves with their silly (or rude) poses are funny. I wish the bombers would restrict their "fun" to within their own groups.

The area off of the Tomorrowland bridge with the bumped out spot is a good place to get a photo pass castle photo without any photobombers, intentional or accidental.

If you're talking about the Rose Garden, it used to be a perfect spot, but I believe it's gone now. And such a shame. It was a great place for crowd free photos on the busiest of days.

I did an accidental photobomb at Epcot this past Friday (if anyone reading was that family, I am so sorry). I had a bag and had to go through bagcheck and my impatient family (DH and twin DDs-16) said they'd meet me inside the park. So, I go through bagcheck and find the easiest looking MB scanner to enter the park but when I get through I have no idea where may family is. I scan the crowds and see them at the complete other end of the MB scanner row. I see an empty path and, to be cute, I start running awkwardly with my cellphone in the air waving at them (like: here, guys, here I am). As I am running, I notice, out of the corner of my eye, a CM with a big grin on her face laughing at me. As I finally catch up with my family I realize that CM was a photographer and there was a family lined up with the Epcot stuff (those name walls and the ball) in the background and I ran across their photo op. One of my DDs caught the whole thing and was rolling on the floor laughing. I really didn't mean to photobomb, I was just trying to embarrass DDs by being goofy. Ended up embarrassing myself.

If I'm picturing their spot correctly, it isn't the rose garden. On the bridge to Tomorrowland there is an inset with some cement benches that looks down to the waters around the castle and there is usually a photographer set up there. It's physically impossible to have another person/group in that area

Also on the bridge just before Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square. There is usually a photographer there and no one will be behind you, only castle.

But really, get the digital to a college student or graphics student. My kids could wipe those people out in a heartbeat.

Yes, before you get to Merida's meet and greet area. I agree, this is probably the easiest spot to get a castle photo with no unwanted "extras" in the background!
