Can someone please refresh my memory? I am having a little "Can remember anything moment".

Castle inn and Suites. Is this closer to the Disneyland Cross walk on Harbor then the Howard Johnson (Obviously coming from an opposite direction) or is it about the same distance or a bit farther of a walk? I know where about on Harbor it is, but I cant remember for the life of me the distance. But if I remember correctly its a bit farther.

Thanks!!!

I can let you know next week. We're staying there starting tomorrow night. You might try Google Earth. The photos of the area are pretty good and might help you remember more if you've been there before.

According to The Unofficial Guide, here are the walking times...

HoJo: 10 minutes 15 seconds

Castle Inn & Suites: 12 minutes 30 seconds

HTH :earsboy:

The walk wasn't too bad. It was a lot closer in the morning then coming back after the park closed at night, lol. Two lights, basically the length of two strip malls. Just looking I think the HoJo would be a bit closer.

We've stayed at Castle Inn twice and the walk was very reasonable. I never actually timed it.. lol

We are trying the HoJo this time and if its closer that'll be awesome.

I Google Earth'd it a min ago. They are both 0.3/tenths of a mile from door to across the crosswalk just into the bus drop off area. So exactly the same.

We've stayed at both. The walk to the Castle Inn & Suites is a just bit longer, but neither walk is excessive. Comparing the two hotels however, HoJo wins hands-down.

I didn't mind the Castle Inn, but we were traveling on a very limited budget so you get what you paid for. (Got a deal from lastminutedeals booking site). It worked as just a crash place. Felt safe, was clean enough, linens/towel changed daily, bathroom cleaned, that sort of thing. I probably wouldn't recommend it if you have young kids, because with family you will need at least some down time in the room. I was traveling with just a couple teenagers and me, so being in the room was just for a few hours of sleep, changing clothes, and a place to leave the luggage.

Thanks for your replies everyone. I am not staying there, and neither is anyone else I know at the moment. My friend was looking for a place to stay, I saw the deals and had to ask. She booked elsewhere though. Good to know for future reviews though. ;)

PS... thanks to the map, we decided on Tropicana Inn instead of Castle Inn! though Castle does look fun

I will NEVER stay at the Castle Inn & Suites ever again. Not even if it's the only hotel/motel near DL with availability, I will stay in Long Beach to not stay at the Castle Inn. We HATED it there, the staff was horrible, the walk was OK but it's not faster than the HoJo. We can do the HoJo in about 7 min in the morning, about 10 at night after walking all day, the CI&S took us at least 15 min. both directions.....NOT doing it again. Not due to the walk of course, but due to the horrible "service" and lack of cleanliness. It's not worth it......not even free would it be worth it.

the Tropicana is great, we've stayed there a time or ten. lol We went with CI&S because we had extra kids that trip and needed a room for 6, that was the only thing we could find so we booked it. Not doing it again tho.
