Hello all:)

I just found a great rate for this hotel on Getaway today and was wondering just how far it was from the parks. Also would like to get quick reviews if any of you have stayed there. We know it's not the Ritz and are not expecting a deluxe motel. Just clean rooms and friendly staff. We are only staying 3 nights so we aren't too picky.

Thanks everyone!

I was going to suggest the same. I haven't heard anyone rave about the Castle Inn, but I've heard dozens of folks go and on about how great the Hojo's is. I know you say you are not picky, but it you can save money, be closer, and have a nicer room and staff, why not?

If your not picky then it shouldnt be too bad. I havent heard too much about that hotel on these boards, but I havent heard bad things either. If your just wanting a place to shower and sleep then id consider at least putting on your list of "maybe"

Its about 5 minutes walk down the road. Here is an interactive map that shows you where the hotel is. If you go North up the street, you will see 3 trolleys coming out of a parking lot and you will see a cross walk as well. Thats the Disneyland entrance. It will show you how far away the Castle inn and Suites is from Disneyland. But personally if your asking for an opinion and you want something a bit closer but still decent, try the Tropicana or Hojo's

Hmmm, I've never stayed there but I think it's more than a 5 minute walk. I would guess more like 10. I've stayed at HoJo, it's a 7-10 min walk and at CCI, it's a 10 min. walk. I'd recommend the HoJo based on my past experiences, the staff is great, the rates are amazing and the rooms are nice. :)

We stayed there in 06. Not 'too' bad. The first room my DD and DW were given had roaches. Well that went over like passing gas in church. They were upgraded to a suite up front.
The room was large enough, but it was right on top of Harbor Blvd. Lots of traffic noise. The walk is doable, but a little long late at night.:surfweb:

My DH and I stayed here last year and it was fine. It is nothing fancy, but it was clean and you could not beat the walk to DL. We were hardly in our room at all and for $38 a night we were not complaining!

I stayed there in March and thought it was fine. The walk was comfortable, even at the end of the day (with DD3 in a stroller) but it was long enough that I didn't want to go back during the day for a break. If you think you will come and go, you might want to stay closer. If you will spend all your time in the park, then it is fine. We walked down the park side of harbor for most of the walk, and it was a very peaceful and relaxing walk.

If you get a great deal, I say go for it.

Somone wrote and online review of Castle Inn in July that said there was bedbugs. We crossed it off of our list after reading that, wasn't worth the risk. I have heard others say it was dirty.
