Castle Apt. Trivia

I just thought I'd share this from "The Walt Disney World Trivia Book":

"Space for an apartment for the Disney family was created high inside Cinderella castle. However, Walt passed away before the Magic Kingdom and the apartment were completed...."

I wonder if this is the apartment they are letting the "Million Dreams" winners stay in?

It is! I can't wait to see it! I hope somebody who gets to stay there takes pixs and posts them. I would looovvve to stay there! I saw pix once of the apartment over the firehouse at Disneyland. I think Walt's wife got to pick the furniture and colors. I hear its still the same as it was when Walt was there.

Yup!

It never became an apartment- it was used for housing the WDW switchboard operators for a while, as storage, and as a changing and staging area for performers in various Castle shows.

Now, it is being transformed into a deluxe suite for use during the YOAMD. Nobody knows what will happen to it after the promotion ends- some think it will be rented out to VIPs or even to us regular folks. I can't imagine the $$$ Disney would charge for a night in the Castle!

Disney has declared the value of the night in the Castle suite at around $500 for income tax purposes.

I think it will be more special if you CANNOT stay in the castle after the YOAMD.
