I have heard some things about the Castaway Club...How do you go about joining it and what are its benefits?

To join, you go on your first cruise. It's an automatic thing - once you cruise your a member.

benefits include a return cruiser gift. In October i got a really nice beach towel and two return cruiser pins. Also there is a private reception with food and drink. Also if you book on board you get a two hundred dollar shipboard credit. There is also a special check in line at the pier, but because so many folks are now return cruisers, it isn't always the quickest line to be in at check in time.
