I've booked four DIS cruises since becoming a member of the Castaway Club and never seen an appreciable break in the price... the beach towels are nice, though
Discount, what discount also known as: "Discounts, we don't give no stinking discounts"
Discounts may be "advertised" as one of the perks of the Castaway Club, but it ain't so. Actually it may not be advertised because DCL know that we all ASSUME that discounts are one of the perks of the "club."
There isn't a Castaway Club discount - there is however a room credit, but only if you re-book onboard.
The best thing to do in an ideal situation is to book and get your credit on board, then transfer your reservation afterwards to DU during a rebate period - then you should get both
We rebooked while on board the Magic in November. Got the $200.00 per stateroom credit and the 10% discount they say is included in the price. Being the skeptic that I am I came home had DU and ran the price on DCL website. There is a a 10% difference in the DCL website and about a 12% uptick at DU. Guess they really do what they say. Oh and the trip for the sametime next year cost me $200.00 less than this year same rooms. Happy hunting for bargins!
