I love to snorkel and I'm not sure if snorkeling is allowed on the Serenity Bay side - is it okay to snorkel there, and if it is, do I have to wear a life vest? The map just says you must wear one in the lagoon.

As far as I know, you can snorkel in Serenity Bay (I've done it in the past). Yes, you must wear one of the snorkeling vests. You don't have to inflate it, if you don't want to.

my cousin has his own snorkel equipment and had to wear a vest in the family area not just in the lagoon. I think you have to have one anywhere you are wearing snorkel equipment. But they do give you the vest for free just pick one up at the snorkel shop.

As others have said, you do need to wear the snorkeling vest at Serenity, but do not need to stop by the snorkel rental first. The lifeguard stand at Serenity has them.
