Hello dis!

Can someone please provide me with a picture of the sand toys available on CC and the price? If they are cute and not too expensive I think they might be a nice souvenir, if not we can always pack our own or possibly pick up on the way to the port.

Thanks so much.

I don’t have a picture, but I do remember thinking that the price was not what I considered reasonable. I now bring a bag of toys that are a combination of dollar store buckets and shovels and old tub toys. If they make it home for the next trip, awesome, and, if not, I’m not upset. I actually have a small bag full of just beach stuff for these beach days in the cruise. It has the toys, some clips to hold the towels to the chair and a paintbrush I got as an FE gift to brush sand off chairs.

You can buy collapsible buckets on Amazon that are cute that cost less. While the toys on CC are cute, they are priced for a captive audience.

Depending on your itinerary, the sand toys may be useful before you get to CC as well.

From Scott's blog. He has a number of images of items for sale on CC and the bag of sand toys in a CC mesh bag is $15. This was 2 years ago, so prices may have changed.

We keep bringing the Nemo bucket we bought on our first trip at Castaway Cay when my first son was 5. He's 11 now, we've done five cruises with stops at CC, so I think I've amortized this purchase enough!

Perhaps you could scrounge a few paper/plastic cups or bowls and spoons from the ship before you get off at CC. When you return, (don't let them float away) just throw them away. Our grandkids make drip castles and lots of holes (treasure hunting?) and decorate them with stuff they find on the beach...shells, feathers, etc. I snorkel out to Mickey (thank goodness for the inflatable vests), take a photo or two, and come back, looking like a drowned rat, but happy. Love CC and wonder what the new island will look like...maybe I get to do my life-long dream...wrestle an alligator...bring it on Louis!

Thanks for everyone's input. I forgot to consider the other ports which come before CC, however the mesh bag looks so cute and handy! May have to consider both packing some, improvising, and buying some cute souvenirs!
