We are going to be going on our 2nd Disney cruise this year. From what I was told, we will be invited to a reception and get a gift. What is the reception like and what is the gift?

Thanks.

Right now the gift is a beach towel, really nice and thick. We went to the reception last year, but skipped it this year, There are free drinks, but not of your choice, I think there were 2 diferent kinds, and also virgin drinks for the kids. They have a nice selection of appetizers. It is a good chance to meet the captain and some officers, but other then that it is nothing special.

Thanks for your reply. Do they do this reception on the first day and at what time? Also does each guest in your room get a towel, or one per room (I would assume one per room). Also, is the towel waiting in your room when you arrive?

My cousin and I are booked for a 7 day next year. We are both repeat cruisers and are booked in the same room. As we both are paying our own way, we both would like the repeat cruiser gift. Does anyone know if it's possible for both of us to get the gift? Thanks!!

The gift is ONE per stateroom, even if everyone in the room is a repeat guest.

The Castaway Club reception is not held on the first night, it's later in the cruise. An invitation will be delivered to your stateroom. :)

It WAS one beach blanket per cabin.
We thought the reception was very nice -
probably because it was the first time
we were there - I did ask for a glass of
wine and they immediately brought me
one. Ready to go again!

i've heard that with so many repeat cruisers that the reception is getting pretty crowded. has anyone who has cruised recently experienced this?

As I stated earlier we did not go this year. But last year it was very crowded and was held in one club. This year the inventation said it was to be held in both clubs, so I guess the number is growing. I know there was always a line to rebook on the ship. And she was there from morning till night with only meal breaks.

We were on the 5/11 Western Inaugural cruise and the Return Cruisers' Party was held in the entire lounge area. Of course, there were over 800 expected! What does everyone think about a "Return Cruiser Only" cruise? Could be interesting!

;)
