Did I read somewhere that on Castaway Cay there's a place to leave the kids while adults do their own thing, or do you have to leave them at the club on the ship?

Also, how does it work when they're at the club for their meals?

Hi, the club is actually on CC, and it is called Scuttles Cove (sp). The one on the ship is not open, as all the workers are either off or working on the island. They do bring the children to eat, they have a BBQ on CC. They have a navigator with special activities... :)

They will take care of the kids, but they do not take them swimming. Just drop them off and have some nice "mom & dad" time. :) The adult beach is great!

I have a question too. If we drop off our 11 and 12 year old sons there while we parasail, can they swim if they're with the club? They both know how to swim, but do they allow it?

No (I suspect it's for liability reasons). They would have to be checked out and swim on their own. Otherwise, they have to take part in the club activities. The teens do have some water activities that involve rafting in the water etc. but not the younger kids.

:goodvibes The past two cruises I have checked DD in for an hour or two,but that is it! It is just so HOT!! :sunny: They did play some water games and do a whale bone dig,but still when I picked her up her face was so red and she was so HOT!!

So I usually get off the ship ASAP and head to the beach..We swim and play for a few hours and then go to lunch. After lunch is when I checked her into the club and I went to Serenity Bay for about 2 hours and it was wonderful! I did not even get beeped.

So maybe if you went para sailing you could do that early and then get the kids out of the clubs for the afternoon before it gets too hot in the clubs.

DD enjoyed her time there, but was ready when I showed up. We were both hot and worn out and it is so nice to get back on that ship and take a shower. DD usually crashes out after CC day for a couple hours.

Have fun!

:)

I will echo the previous poster about the heat in the club on CC. The last cruise they did not even go at all when we were on CC. They did not mind, they both remembered how hot they were.

I understand their reasons for not bringing the children to the beaches, and after looking at the people on them, even more so....

We're bringing our own snorkel gear. Since our kids are small, we were hoping to leave them at the club while we snorkeled. Do you snorkel at the adult beach or somewhere else?

It was great when we were there... We saw a huge Starfish and their were 2 stingrays swimming with us too. I saw some other type fish too. The water was so clear!! Just like a swimming pool and so calm! :fish: :fish: :fish:

2 hours was plenty of adult time at Serenity Bay!! I just loved it. :rotfl:

I bring my own snorkel stuff too!

Talking about snorkeling made me think of a question. We're just bringing mask and snorkel. Is it true they will give you the vest free of charge? I thought I read that somewhere.

I had my own snorkel and mask and just used their vest...

The snorkel trail on the family beach is very deep water and you need it! :flower:
