We got off the Dream yesterday, August 15th. Our cruise was a 5 night with 2 stops at Castaway Cay. We had a cabana on family beach for the first stop, which was Saturday August 11th. Like lots of people, we went back and forth as to whether the cost was "worth it". For us, it certainly was! We have now spent 5 days on Castaway, and our day with the cabana was by far the best. Having a private beach that only cabana guests can access was wonderful. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The kids loved having the sand toys and floats/mats easily accessible. And to have our own private oasis to retreat to was pure heaven.

Thank you so much for the pictures and the review. I'm so excited for our cabana in November. This just makes us even more excited. :)

DH and I have been having the - is it "worth" it discussion. He says yes, I say no. The pictures are definitely persuading.

We had Cabana number 17 on our Fantasy Cruise. It was the best thing we ever did. We shared it with a family that was traveling with us.

Number 17 was the last Cabana it was like we were on a private oasis. PJ our host was top notch. Our neighbors next door had small children in a pack and play and the fan kept them nice and cool.

We have #7 for our cruise in October!!:cool1:

We have #7 booked for our 3-Night Dream Cruise leaving Sept 27th! We'll take care of it for you!!

They have definitely changed the seating from when we had cabana 7 last October.

We had wooden-backed chairs and no chaise in the corner!

it's great they've added the corner chaise - that way all three of us will be able to sit out on the deck and laize the day away!!
i hope they have it at SB as well!

Question for those who have "cabanaed" before. :)

How much do you tip your cabana host that day? I'm wondering because we are also in concierge on the ship and will tip there, as well,

Since they are the same hosts (concierge and cabana) we just took our cabana days into account when deciding on our tip at the end of the cruise. So we just tipped once.

We tipped $20 when we were on the family beach with the kids. On Serenity Bay with just the two of us, we tipped $10.

We weren't concierge either time.

Thanks for those amazing pictures. We have booked cabana #7 (well, only 7 or 8 was available) for our Nov 25th Dream cruise. Really looking forward to great weather!!

It is based on your cruise "level" or if you are in concierge and above staterooms. Once you have paid in full you can go ahead and make various reservations online or with DCL, I think for Platinum members is 120 days out; gold at 105 days, silver at 90 days, and first timers at 75 days.

WHat rooms are classified as "concierge"? Is it just the Concierge suites or are some lower level Deluxe with Veranda rooms concierge as well? We have 1 7A level and one 6A. We are all first time cruisers, but I want the cabana as a splurge, so I'm afraid all of them will be taken by our 75 day time period.
