Yippee! We got our excursion packet in the mail today, another milestone. Why would someone pay $49 for the seahorse snorkel when they can snorkel for free? Do we really need to get bikes or floats in advance or wait and get them that day (we have our own snorkels)?

I don't think this is something you'd have to worry about reserving in advance. We've never had a problem getting these the day of CC.

they have huge stacks of floats and tubes. And when we arrived on the cay last week there must have been 100 bikes waiting for riders

I only have some guesses about the Seahorse snorkel as I haven't been on it. One, they are trying to give you more choices. Two, some people(one being my mother) loves to snorkel but doesn't like to snorkel from shore, can only snorkel from a boat. She says she has a hard time getting back to shore if you leave from shore but she can climb back into a boat and they can bring her back. Just telling you her reasoning. Three, alot of people complain about the snorkeling area getting cloudy as more people get in there and you can't see much, I would also assume with the boat going out further, that you would have better snorkeling area because it is not used as much and not so close to shore. But again, those are guesses, my mom is doing the Seahorse Snorkel on 11/28 so I will let you know their review when she gets back.

When we went on the Wounder in 2001 we bought a package (snorkle, tuble, bike). I did that because it iwas cheaper that way. If I did when we landed it was more money.

We did the Seahorse Snorkel.... and it was great! Snorkeling over that living reef is just not the same as snorkeling in the sandy lagoon.

Only complaint about the Seahorse Snorkeling.... it takes precious time from wonderful Castaway Cay!!!! But, lets just say I do not ever get the chance to snorkel. I enjoyed this opportunity. Especially since we could check DS into Scuttles Cove!
