hi

just trying to get my budget down to the last cent:tongue: do we need money to eat on CC or do they provide food free like on the ship- or maybe a better question is .....is there anything available on CC to eat??

thanks:sunny:

Food is included on CC!!! They have a BBQ lunch for all the guest. It consists of ribs, chicken, hamburger, hotdogs, Corn on cob, baked beans, fruits, and desserts and sodas,. I think there is more but that all i can think of now...CC also has a bar which you pay extra for alcohol drinks.

You will LOVE Castaway Cay!!!!:Pinkbounc

CC is like an extension of the ship. They provide basic foods like grilled chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, chips, etc. There are beverage kiosks and bars where you can get real drinks. Everything can be signed for using your KTTW card.

One caution: If you are doing a guided tour or excursion, bring a little cash for tips. You will not need money otherwise.

Do they still have the Conch Cooler in the shell? We haven't been in three years, but we are on the 10/9 sailing and my girls are so excited about getting new shells.

One other thing to be aware of. On the ship, we never went hungry - there was always food around.

On CC day, breakfast is served on the ship. There isn't anything to eat on the Cay put out until lunch. We got a little hungry before the lines opened up at 11:00 - and a CM took pity on my hungry children and we got some bags of chips and some fruit about 10:30. Eat a good breakfast before departing - and you might want to grab something to throw in your bag as well.

We headed back to the ship after lunch - I'm not sure if snacks are set out for the afternoon or not (they are on the ship, and there is Scoops).

They serve you drinks right on the beach! Extra-charge drinks, that is. I ordered a Conk Kooler in one of those plastic coconuts and it ended up coming out in one of those HUGE real coconut-pirate-head things. LOL We were laughing at it, and instead of making the poor server take it all the way back and bring back a plastic coconut, I decided to just take the real coconut one. lol DH and BIL ended up getting one too. Now I have it sitting near my desk here, with my Mickey ears hat on it, and it's wearing the gold medal that I won at the Pool Games at the adult pool.
When we go back to Castaway Cay next time I will make sure to get the PLASTIC coconut. :teeth:

P.S. You have to give your Key to the World card to the server so they can charge the drinks to your account, so be sure to bring it with you onto CC. You'll also need it if you want to buy anything on the island. :)

P.P.S. In addition to the food that was already mentioned, I know they also have ice cream on the island. We didn't have any, but I saw a lot of people with it.

great! thanks for the replies:wave:

Also, lunch at Cookies BBQ (family beach) is better than lunch at Serenity Bay. Just a more extensive menu!

The soft serve is wonderful...I had never had cookies and cream soft serve until Castaway Cay! Don't miss it.
