Which cabana on Castaway Cay do you think is the best? We've been researching and we're leaning to one on the family beach, but we don't know which one(s) to request. Currently, #7, #8 and #9 seem like the top candidates, though we're open to suggestions!

We also prefer 8. Good views of the ship, far enough from the rope that separates the private beach, still walkable to the restrooms and Cookies Too.

I think any between 5 and 9 are ideal (I think we have been in each of those). If I had small children, I’d go for the higher number family beach cabanas as the water (puddle) they sit on us much calmer and was very shallow in 2019.

How shallow would you estimate it is? Like a 2-3 feet, or about 6 feet? Is it swimmable for adults, or is it more like a wading pool?

The configuration of the private beach changed a lot after the hurricane hit in September 2019. The water was much lower across the entire beach when we were there in February 2020. In front of the higher-numbered cabanas, there was almost no water left, only a large sand bank. Maybe they had time to remove some of the sand during the shutdown…

Since you seem very knowledgeable about cabanas & we've got our first concierge cruise coming up this winter, may I ask, is the cabana area fairly quiet, or are there noisy sections to avoid if you have issues with noise? My son and I both have ear disorders, and can't tolerate loud noise. I don't care about hearing families laughing or kids playing, etc., but I don't want us to be next to loud music or anything like that. Have you ever noticed that being an issue in the family cabana area? Thanks!

The cabana beach water is NEVER deep. Literally the deepest I've ever seen it was maybe 4 feet. The area by the higher numbered cabanas on the Family Beach (aka the puddle) was never deeper than about 2 feet ever and the last time it was less than a foot. It also depends on the tide, but if you want actually deep water you have to go to the "public" beach and even then it can be hard to find.

I have never experienced noisy areas at the Family Beach Cabanas.

There is absolutely no noise in that area. You are far from anything with a motor. The Concierge team uses electric golf carts to get around. The only source of noise in the cabanas themselves is the radio that plays island music, but you can turn it off. Peace and quiet awaits you.

Little tip : close the shutters if you eat in the cabana. The birds know when it’s lunch time…
