My parents would like to to this excursion at Castaway Cay. What is the best time of day for the boat ride and would you recommend it.

Thank you!!

My parents and sister did this excursion in Jan 04 and found it to be kind of boring. The went outside the breakwall along the island and the water was really rough. My dad even had to take a seasickness pill The tour guide had them available for everyone so it is obviously a common occurance. Our cruise was extremely calm waters so I believe it was just the location that they go to that made it worse. Their pictures are great - especially from the other side of Castaway Cay. Some good angles on the Magic too. All in all they said it was okay but would not spend the money for it again. Hope this helps!

I had heard comments about this excursion being boring so hadn't suggested it on our cruise. Mom and Aunt (80 somethings) found it in the Navigators and booked it on the island. I think they went ashore first thing and did the first trip of the morning. I know they were through by 11:00 or so when we ran into them on the island.

They said they really enjoyed the trip and felt it was well worth the money. They mentioned seeing the coral formations and lots of different fish. Neither one mentioned it being rough and Mom had some problems with a queasy stomach earlier in the cruise so I'm sure she would have mentioned it.

I think it really depends on the age and expectations.

As to the best time to go, depending on the time of year, it might be much warmer later in the day. Also, when we were on CC it was windier in the afternoon than in the morning.

We went on CC glass bottom boat after having our Key West glass bottom boat cancelled. We went on the 9:45 am boat, and I couldn't look at the bottom due to starting to get seasick. I would not do it again, especially since we did the Atlantis sub in Cozumel. The glass bottom boat paled in comparison. Can't believe it was only a week ago!

wouldn't recommend it. Not much to see, and even in calm waters, you may experience seasickness, the boat is not very big so it gets pretty rocky . I would rather explore the island and enjoy the R&R more than anything else. I would do similar excursions at other ports of call. CC is a place to soak up all the relaxation you can before heading back to reality!::yes::
