Castaway Bicycle Options for a 4 year old

We have a small 4 year old who doesn't ride a bike. He will probably be about 40 pounds when we sail in May. Is there a bike seat or anything that we will be able to put on one of the adult bikes for him?

Yes, there are plenty of adult bikes with seats on the back. There are also lots of bikes with training wheels. Have fun!

Thanks for the response. He can't ride a bike at all. Are the bike seats going to fit him? He is 39" tall and 37 lbs right now and we will be there in a little less than 3 months.

There are bike seats but they are designed for toddler sizes. When my son was 4 there was no way he would fit in one. We just skipped biking that trip. I do not remember size limits for sure but I would not be surprised for you to find your son is too large to comfortably fit in the seat. Plus it is so hot and humid that he would be pretty miserable if he was crammed in there.

Thanks for the response. He is small for a 4 year old...he could definitely look 3. Ironically, last year we did a 3 day Dream cruise followed by 5 days at WDW and when we walked into Magic Kingdom the lady who scanned our magic bands questioned us why we got our son a band. Her point was that kids under 3 don't need one (he had just turned 4 a week earlier.)

Don't want to hijack, but I have a similar question. Are there 16" kids bikes? My almost-5-year-old is a similar size -- 41" and about 37lbs -- and loves biking. Are there any bikes that would fit him (no training wheels)? His little sister will fit in one of the toddler seats, but I think he won't tolerate that.
