Cast Members really do appreciate your Thank You notes.

So do we have to go to GR and pick them up one at a time after we've experienced something where we want to give an Applause-O-Gram, or can we get several of them to hand out as we come across a situation? We don't intend to walk around just handing them out, we'd only give them for someone who truly goes above and beyond, but it'd be a pain to have to go to GR every time to get one. Is it best to give them right to the CM on the spot who provided us the service, or are you saying it's best to write the info down and hand the Applause-O-Gram into GR on our way out?
 
It depends on the severity of the issue and how the CMs leader handles it. If the complaint doesn't add up to anything big a manger may just have the conversation with the CM and leave it at that. If it's something bigger than a disscussion with leadership and the CM will take place and a disscussion will be noted on the CMs record card. The notation will just say disscussion/coaching and doesn't go into detail.

I said 'Compliment". I was saying something good about them. However, I don't know if that ever got to them.

The last time I did a shout out as a guest and not a CM they just had my write what I wanted to say in a book. I didn't actually see the Applaus-O-Gram. Best practice would be to take note of who you want to give a compliment and then stop by 1 time at each park so you aren't taking too much time out.

To be honest my go to meter for an is this worth it, is do I still remember that CM at the end of the day? If I've come across several other CMs and I still remember that one then they deserve an applause o gram. The 1 who has gotten it from me (who wasn't someone I knew from work which I would never give out as that felt wrong) was a Jungle Cruise Skipper who was hands down the best skipper I ever had.

Emails are fine too, they are handled just like going to guest relations. That is provided all the needed information to get o the specific cast member is there. As for the four keys drawings it is up to the cast me ever to enter their 4keys cards into it. If the cast ember never enters their cards they'll never win.

Sure you could just take them and give them to the CM directly but then it'll never be put on their record, and the CM would just have it as a keepsake rather than something that can be used in the future to help build their Disney career.

So,"blank" Applause-O-Grams can be picked up by Guests at GR and carried with them around the Parks?

I have always been under the impression that Applause-O-Grams are to be filled out by GR CMs and cannot be removed from the GR locations.

Hey thanks for all the great info! I have always been impressed and found one or two special cast members who go out of their way to create a little extra bit of magic. I always tell them thank you, and I have on occasion sent an email to Disney. However, I have never really known how to make sure they get recognized for their great job. So this is GREAT info and I will make sure I use it on my next trip (which is often!).

Now I just have to find you so i can make sure you get recognition! (just kidding - I know CM's on here are anonymous). :jester:

Can I go to GR at any park for any CM? We were treated so kindly by a couple of CMs at Hollywood Studios, but we won't go back to that park before we leave. Would an email be the best at this point?
