Cast Member Room Rate Question

My sister is currently on the College program through January 3. She made a reservation for me to come visit her December 26-January 1 at Coronado Springs using her discount. However, she said now they are doing a discount of 60% for arrivals after November 1. She said on the portal there is a little picture of Minnie ice skating and it says "Cast Holiday Special, Book Now!" However, when she called to see about the special and attempted to book online no one knew what she was talking about. Does anyone know anything about this new special? What is the rate/discount amount? I obviously can't log into the portal as I am not a CM and my sister is unable to figure this out so I just thought I'd come to the DIS! Thanks for any help!

it says the discount started the 16th of October by phone

**I clicked on the icon with Minnie and did a search for the resort with that date you selected and it said no availibility. You might have to stay at a different resort if you want the 60%.

THANK YOU! My sister said it also mentioned something about dining. Any idea if I can add the dining plan? Not sure why she can't figure this out, but she's just like that.

My sister just called back and spoke with someone who knew a little more about what was going on. The CM she spoke with told her the dates for this rate are October 23-November 18 and you can add the dining plan. She said she was surprised when they allowed CM's to add the dining plan and she is not sure if it is something Disney is planning to continue.

HMMMM..... never been able to add dining before....it would help! are the dates definite and what about existing ressies?????Thank you for the info, I be asking too, but dont know when I can or will get an answer.

Sorry, since I'm not the CM I really don't know anything, but the answers my sister did get were from calling the CM line. The CM reservation system is down through Tuesday though.

Just found out more details...

The rooms are 60% off with the exception of values which are 50% off. The dining plan is only $20.99/adult per night instead of the usual rate of $38.99. I am so bummed I can't go during this time!
