A question for all you folks who have worked/are working/have a relative that works at WDW. I was told CMs can acquire FPs for family visiting the parks. Is this true? How would that work? I thought that the FPs changed colors each day so they can't be reused, so how would the CM get FPs in advance? And could they get FPs for all attractions in all parks, attractions in the park they work in, or just for their attraction?

Just wondering - if this is true, that's a nice (small but nice) incentive for working at WDW.

Thanks.

My SIL is a CM at the MK and she has, on occasion, produced fast passes for attractions. She doesn't have them all the time, and I am not sure exactly how she obtains them but they're different than the daily fast passes used as they don't have a date on them (from what I recall). She has never gotten us FP for any of the other parks so I am not sure how that works.

Not that I am aware of. Any of the CM's I have gone to the park with get FP's like everyone else.

Maybe it depends on where they work or maybe it is not a perk anymore. But once on the way out of MK one evening we were in one of the shops looking at pins and struck up a conversation about pins with a guy who had on a lanyard loaded with pins. He was telling us about rare ones and specials that he had and what to look for. While saying goodbye he said to wait a minute and pulled out several pads of FP's. Turned out he was a CM and he proceeded to give us a FP for every ride in MK. These were special blanks that he signed and put down that they were good for four people. Very nice of him!!

FP do have dates on them. It's in real small print at the bottom though CM's don't usually look at the date. Only the time.

CM's will occasionally have some FP's, usually just from pulling a few during slow times. What they do with them is up to them. There isn't any policy for them to give them to guests or anything like that.

Thanks for these replies - all interesting.

disney junky, we were in line for Splash Mountain last year and it broke down. We were of course allowed to wait in line to see if the ride would be up and running again. A CM eventually came through and handed us FPs for the ride, and I've scoured them - no date or time anywhere on them! I count us very blessed to have gotten those. As we were only in MK for that afternoon, I have saved those two non-specific FPs from last year to use this year. I wondered if the FPs some CMs give out were like these.

A CM gave my Daughter a Free FP for Dinosaur at AK. It was at the tarzan rocks show (I'll miss it) and after my daughter wanted to know what it took be be one of the dancers (DD is 6 and loves to dance) The CM was in charge of the show and answered all our questions. Then when we wnt to leave gave us a FP and said we just had to give it to the FP lane and it would get our intire family in. It was a nice token from the CM and made my daughters day.

I have never heard of this perk. And I know CMs who have been CMs for years, if not decades.
I won't say it does not exist. But I have never heard of it, and would be surprised if it did. :confused3
Maybe a CM might work with another, or know one, at a particular ride and get them in, or a FP. But my guess that would be the extent. :confused3

I believe its only the CM's that are in charge of the ride or show that have them. Not just any CM. The CM was like the Manager for the show. The regular CM called him over to answer our questions.

I think this is probably correct. The ride CM's only have access to those FPs. Those from the machines are dated with times. The blank ones which people refer to here are different.

The "blank" tickets just have the ride name printed on them. The real purpose of them is for child swapping. They are given to one parent, and then the other parent can use it anytime. When I was a CM I had friends that worked on rides, and if they had a big roll of them left over they would give them away to guests or friends.

I have a whole pile of Splash Mountain Fast Passes in my desk with no expiration date on them! Although they are about 5 years old, I don't think I would have the guts to use them anymore. :lmao:

we have gotten them with the name of the ride, no date, at guest relations when we have done things there. they have been good for our whole party. pretty cool actually.

Yeah, they might not take the Splash Mountain FPs from last year, so I won't get upset at all if they don't. I figure it doesn't hurt to try!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on this one. :)

We got a few of those universal Fast Passes because we had issues with my brothers ticket.. I lost several hours, several different days.. having to wait in line to have someone fix the problem.. so we got several of the universal passes to make up for the "lost time" we experienced..

I have a relative who works at one of the parks as a FP manager, I know he walks around the parks all day giving them to people who look like they need a break, so there are CMs that do have the ability to hand them over.

He has gifted us with FPs to all the rides in his park and VIP seatings to certain shows when we've visited.
