Cast Member Hotel Discount Question...

Hi everyone!!! OK - my future father-in-law is a Disney full time cast member and offered to get us our hotel for a discount... I haven't had a chance to call him (not that I need to yet, since our wedding isn't for another 11 months) however, I rememeber reading somewhere that their hotel discount is 50%. Can anyone confirm this? We are getting married on Dec. 11, 2006 which is still during value season, so there shouldn't be any blackouts... Thanks!

I'm a former Cast Member, and as recently as last year, Noverember 1st to December 31st, Cast Members get 40% off merchandise but resorts are iffy. To get a good discount you won't be able to book until 30days before check in. This may have changed

I think things have changed. I know it was 50% a few yrs ago when I was a CM. However, now I think they offer different things at different resorts...ie the resort you want may not have the discount. To get the discount over multiple days, you may have to move resorts...It is all based on availability.

The discount is either 25% or 50% based on availability. It can be booked as far out as you would like and it is recommended to book it further out in order to get the 50%. Also over the cast holiday it can grow to a 60% discount and yes if it is availalbe you can modify a existing reservation to that discount. Also they can check the availability over the web so checking back for larger discounts is easier than ever!

I am currently a cast member and have been since 2000. Cast members get a 25%- 50% hotel room discount however, cast members are only allowed to book a MAXIMUM of 3 hotel rooms. So if you are having an intimate wedding this will definitley work for you . However in my case we are having a custom wedding with 150 guests so getting only 3 rooms only puts a dent into what we will need. The rooms can be booked up to a year in advance but MUST be booked on the cast portal (the cast member should know what this is). Hope I could help!

I was going to say my fiance's friend's brother is a CM and in 04 we stayed at POFQ and got 50% off last summer at the Beach Club and got 40% off. I am not sure of his position but I know he is corporate, so I am not sure if that makes any difference. That is all that i know
