Bill's wife, CaskPeg, sent me some photos taken by the park staff at Zion National Park of the stone bench purchased by the park using funds contributed in Bill's name.

The bench is located on the Emerald Pools Trail. The weather had just cleared enough for them to take a couple of photos of the area. The first is of the bench itself and the second is the view from the bench. I know Bill would be pleased with both the bench and the view.

How beautiful. Thanks for sharing. We love Zion. It's a lovely place.

A wonderful view! What a lovely memorial to Bill and his family.

Thank you for sharing this with us. The view is absolutely beautiful. Incredible. What a wonderful memorial.

Beautiful, and what a fitting tribute to Caskbill.

Now THAT is a memorial! What could be better than a bench to watch God's beauty? Perfect.

I agree with you on your sentiments...and so would, Caskbill. I am sure he is watching from there and smiling. My son hopes to go there some time this next year for a visit with his dad.

That's an absolutely wonderful and fitting tribute at one of the prettiest sites in one of our most beautiful parks.

I'm amazed the park was able to respond so quickly. Usually these things are timed in decades, not weeks!

Just saw your note. When I contacted Zion they were just, fortunately for us, scheduling rehab of the Emerald Pools trail for this summer. Yes timing is everything...and it was on Bill's side that we could move on this with the help of the NPS and their staff.

Oh, you have NO idea!

We just broke ground on a bridge approved by Congress and FUNDED in 1989!

Glad it worked out. It's a perfect memorial for a wonderful guy. We all miss him.

Stunning view & a beautiful bench. I'm sure Bill would have been (or is!) pleased. Just one thing missing.... internet access to the Disboards :surfweb:

I hear you about the internet access...as Caskbill preferred high speed dsl! When he didn't have access or laptop he was not "connected". Somehow-I think the bench sends its own message now!
