I am thinking of requesting either Casitas or Ranchos for my Dec. vacation, because they are near bus stops 2 and 3 which aren't supposed to be very crowded. Which one is best? What are your experiences? We may eat at Pepper Market a few times but not enough to need to be next to it.

We were in Casitas close to bus stop #2. It was great for our family and we liked this bus stop. It seemed like the #3 bus stop was more crowded. There was a quiet pool close by. The Pepper Market was close enough for what we needed. We didn't use it very much either. Lots of people like the Ranchos, but we would request Casitas again!

Do you remember which building was closest to bus stop #2?

Hi. We stayed at the Cabanas and loved it. At check-in, I looked at the map, and said I did not want to be way over by the Ranchos. The CM said, you can't stay there anyway, because it's always booked up. The landscape is really unique at Ranchos. I would love it over there. It is the most secluded--the furthest away from PM. I would ask to be there next time. Casitas gave me the impression of being louder and busier.

My understanding is that the convention people are put in the Casitas section as that is the area closest to the Convention Center. My husband and I will be at CSR for the first time this coming Feb and we have requested the Casitas area as my husband works out every morning and the Health Club is located in the Casitas area. We also wanted to be close to the food court area as after his workout my husband will usually go the food court area and pick up quick breakfast items for us and take them back to the room.

You can check the map on my website.

You also can take the bus to get to stop one if you stay in the ranchos or the CM's driving around in the small carts offer rides to the main building if your walking and don't be afraid to ask them either.

Alot will come down to your taste. If you have seen pictures, the ranchos are like the desert. not much grass, a lot of dry stream beds, cactus. The casitas have lots of courtyards and fountains. Simply beautiful.
