Casinos on St. Maarten

Does anyone know what the casinos in St. Maarten are like? Similar to those in Vegas or Atlantic City? Any you would recommend going to, or staying away from?

We stayed for two weeks in Sint Maarten last year and although there are Casino's they are not like the Vegas ones but small. You can walk to them from where the boat docks.

My DH checked them out on our last cruise. He thought they were sort of "seedy" and old looking. We like to play the slots and he was not impressed...but that is/was just his opinion. I did not go inside because I had to stay outside with DD, so I really don't have an opinion. There is one next to a McDonalds and it looked pretty nice to me. I told him just to play the slots close to the front door...but he didn't. I think he was expecting Vegas or Bilioxi like casinos and they're not.
