Well I had personally reserved judgement on Daniel Craig as Bond, and when I went to see the film at the weekend I thought it was awesome!

But now it's time for those who thought they were going to be disappointed to come forth and admit that Daniel Craig did a fab job as the new Bond.

Or, more interestingly, is there anyone who still didn't buy it?

In my (and it seems, others opinions), think it's bloomin AWFUL!. It seems that women like the movie for the love-dovey bits, it's lack of action and Craig's body.

Blokes on the other hand used to growing up with guns, gadgets, megolomaniacs, bimbos, and most importantly a good story are dissapointed.

Can't say that I'm eating my words. The reasons for me not wanting to see the film are the fact that Pierce Brosnan is no longer Bond and also I really like the original. Those two reasons are still the same. As a Bond fan I will not be seeing the film, no matter how good trhe reviews are.

I though there was no need to draw out the bit when they got together, I was like "come on, we know she's gonna either turn out to be bad or die (or both!)" (the line where he said everone had a tell except her gave it away especially).
And his password was obvious as well.
I normally find myself confused at Bond films, but managing to actually predict things shocked me!
I still loved it though, and the new song!

Incidentally, I didn't like the way his stomach stuck out when he was tied up on the chair (too muscly), he has got very pretty eyes though...... ;)

Took my dad to see this at the weekend,I thought it was too long and not much of a story, but i still quite enjoyed watching Daniel Craig

Excellent Bond film. Different, granted, but a good story and Daniel Craig plays Bond much like the underrated Timothy Dalton.

Depends on what you want from a Bond film. If like all the normal boxes ticked then you might not like this one.

Me - I'll judge each one on its merits but I would stress that the last 3 Roger Moore Bond DVDs remain unwatched on the shelf !

I'll admit I thought he was the best-looking Bond by miles, but the lovey-dovey scene (or, Kissy-Kissy-Boo-Boo-Kitty, as I have taken to calling it) was nauseating. Put me totally off my popcorn.

Just wanted to add, I think 'blokes' will enjoy it a bit less because the Bond Girl was positively Ho-Hum. She would have done well as a submissive Pioneer Girl in a wild-west film (provided she had few speaking lines), but never, ever as a Bond Girl. I think that's part of the reason 'blokes' aren't enjoying it quite as much as they usually do, story aside. ;)

We had the great good luck to meet Lana Wood (is that right? She was Plenty O'Toole in one of the Bond flicks) and I can vouch for the fact she is still very much Plenty in the O'Tooles department. :teeth: THAT is what a Bond Girl should be. This girly was more a 'Wherearethe Tooles', and about as stunning as the chickies flipping burgers at my local McDonalds. No offense intended, of course.

I just remembered that I though that the ending was pretty rushed too, all the bit with the Gettler guy. That did start to have me a bit confusled.....
But I liked how they saved his signature line until the end, and I loved how the bathroom scene became the opening credits!

While I admit Daniel Craig is much more chunky eye candy than a lot of previous Bonds (yes I keep getting flash backs of the trunks!) I agree that not many Bond boxes were ticked in this film: Head turning Bond girl, super cool baddie, quirky one-liners, straight laced Q and his sexy gadgets, the attraction with Moneypenny.

Having read some of the Bond books years ago, I know the true 007 was brutal and on the sadistic side. However, I believe most Bond fans only know the cinema version, and love him for being this slightly corny, get-out-of-any-impossible-situation, larger than life, super spy. Some people will like this new incarnation Bond, but it left me feeling that it could have been any action movie that just happened to have a character called Bond.

Here's hoping they decide which direction he's going in by the next movie.

I'm sure when it is a Christmas movie we'll be watching it :thumbsup2
Hmm, a christmas movie with a naked man tied to a chair having a large weight on a rope being swung into his "crown jewels"?

I don't think that will ever be Christmas viewing.

It might well be but I can hear the censor's scissors now.....!

Well, seeing as they'll be cutting that can they also get rid of the ...

Pointless scene in B&W at the start supposedly in Prague?
The meaningless trip to Miami (besides the shot of Mr Branson)
The dull train scene (just where is Richard Kiel when you need him?)
The poker scenes as, unlike the rest of this gambling mad country, I have no idea what is going on.
Wrecking the Aston Martin - such a shame. Better still, save the car and ride over the double crossing woman!

Add a magnetic watch, an explosive pen, an ejector seat and if possible, splice in a story then we're cooking on gas!

Then they may as well just show Goldfinger again!!!

Well I finally got to see it today, and I quite enjoyed it. The only reason I went to see it was because it was so far removed from the usual James Bond drivel.

Daniel Craig was a much better and grittier Bond, and it was great not to see the usual 'oh James' swooning women in it.

Not a brilliant story, but considering I haven't paid to see any Bond films since A View to a Kill, I thought it was worth the cinema ticket

Not wanting to sound girly, but, wow he's got amazing eyes

I look forward seeing him in the next Bond film :thumbsup2

i loved the film, Caniel Craig makes a great Bond :) . the torture scene made everyone in the cinema go "ouch" :p but apart from that, it was good. and yes he has lovely eyes!.
