Just wanted to see what everyone else does about money when you are on the islands! Thanks for any help!

I just brought cash - it as easier. I kept it in a waterproof container on a "necklace" that I got in the giftshop on the ship. There was never any reason to remove it. I snorkeled with my money and kttw card, etc...

In cozumel, some of the places off the beaten path would not take traveler's checks. We used both traveler's checks and cash.
I would not use credit cards unless a disney approved store. We ended up not using our traveler's checks as much as the cash. Next time we will probably take cash--and not as much!

I brought lots of travellers checks and some cash. I wold take a fair bit of cash with me on every island. At places that would take TC's I would use them, but cash works wonders at small shops, etc.

Took all my leftover TC's near the end of the cruise and paid off my room charge with them (well, most of it).

It's always a good idea to take some cash. Some places won't take plastic or traveller's checks, although most regular store type places will. If you are into bargaining, you can do a little better with cash.
