cash upgrade for DVC point reservation

Is it possible to purchase a cash upgrade for a DVC point reservation? If so how do you go about it?

I would imagine so, call member services and ask. Warning, it can get pricey and that is why we stop using points for our cruise. IMHO much better deal paying cash by booking 1.5 years in advance.
